The founder Cheong Yuen Choy, who at his age of 54 years old currently, initially stepped into the f&b industry since his age of 14th began as a kitchen trainee in Kuala Lumpur touched the chinese cuisine field. Then reached Singapore at his 19th in year 1984 as assistant chef to further his exposure in the carreer, been positioned as a Chef at his 30 years old. While in year 1995, Yuen Choy firstly running his own chinese seafood restaurant at Taman Sentosa, Johor Bahru for about 10 years there joined by his wife Vivian Tan before running their Hokkien Noodle stall at Taman Impian Emas, Johor for another nearly 10 years.
With the experiences hold by Yuen Choy, added with foreseeing the market opportunity in the f&b industry locally and on vision to pass onto their home recipes to the next generation (son Kah Fei who all the while having great interest in the field) allowed Yuen Choy and wife Vivian Tan in year 2018 decided and successfully established their very owned chinese cuisine eating house officially named the “Restoran Choy Kee” at Taman Impian Emas, Skudai introducing their very home recipe Banana Leaf Seafood options and other signature menus in better manner.
