The founder cum owner Edwin Yap, or known Chef Yap who at his age of only 33 years old currently, also the restaurant’s Executive Chef been initially stepped into the f&b industry at his 18th of age in year 2003 began as a kitchen trainee touched the chinese cuisine at Bukit Tambun. Then been reached Kuala Lumpur to further his exposure in the career and being positioned as a Chef at his 21st all the while in chinese & seafood cuisines. Also in year 2005 running his very own chinese cuisine food stall with partner in hometown Simpang Ampat for only a year, later-on continued his chefing career to strengthen his profession in the field locally.
With Edwin Yap’s vision to further his career in the industry, added with his 15 years experiences in the field and recipes on hand. Also all the while wishing to have his very owned eating house and foreseeing the market opportunity in the f&b industry locally enabled him in year 2018 successfully established his very first fully owned Family Chinese Cuisine eating place officially named the “Chu Zi Restaurant” at Lembah Kota Permai, Bukit Mertajam introducing all his home-cooked menus to the market in better manner. Also fully joined and assisted by his wife Shirlyn Pang, finally being recognised among the best in town by the F&B E-Media for the year 2019 in the northern nation.
