Then been stayed on a fixed noodle stall in the 1960s, where Soon Hong initially touched the field helping grandfather in the stall. Later-on took up the responsibility to continue family’s career in the 1980s with elder brother late Thum Sin Rong. While in year 2001, the Thum brothers (Soon Hong & Sin Rong) moved their roadside noodle stall into a kopitiam (Chinese coffee shop) along Jalan Macalister stayed more than 10 years there (Hong Kee Bamboo Noodle established), where son Jun Ying began helping in the stall. Then again shifted to Kg. Malabar in year 2015.
With the vision to have their very first own noodle house locally, added with their Thum family’s generations recipes on hand and foreseeing the market opportunity in the f&b industry. Also wishing to expose further in the career allowed the owner Thum Soon Hong, with son Jun Ying in year 2016 successfully established their very owned noodle house officially named the “Hong Kee Wan Thun Mee” (Hong Kee Bamboo Noodle) along Lebuh Campbell, Georgetown continue serving their very homemade bamboo wanton noodles and other signature menus selection to the market all under a roof.
