SERVING 2 DIFFER BAK KUT TEH RECIPE

Ms. Irene Wong Chai Eng and Mr. Yew Wai Kong (Ah Kong) who are the both founder and recently the owner of the “Imperial Kitchen (Bak Kut Teh) Restaurant” at Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya which serves two different types of bak kut teh, the ‘Teow Chew Bak Kut Teh’ recipe and local famous ‘Klang Bak Kut Teh’ recipe.

 

Irene who is extremely interested in eatery and food cooking entered the industry in the year 1980s at her age of about 20s years old.  She recruited herself into the very 1st career as a kitchen helper in the ‘Shah’s Village’ hotel to explore in local Malay and Western food recipe cooking.  After experienced herself in the career for about 10 years, she quit and later on explored her profession by establishing her very own 1st food stall in the ‘Jaman Mohammed’ restaurant in the year 1990s selling the Halal Chinese Style Fried Mee.  While Ah Kong who is also the main chef in the Imperial Kitchen entered into his career in the year 1976 as the shop helper in the ‘Kuan Wah Restoran’ at Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur since his age of only 14 years old.  Afterwards he found his talent and interest in cooking industry started his experience in the food industry by recruited himself into a few different restaurant and successfully became a recognised Chef in the year 1992 in the ‘Kui Ping Restaurant’ in Ipoh, Perak.  According to Ah Kong, his bak kut teh recipe initially was learnt from his master ‘Brother Cheung’ in Klang then further reserched and improved to become his recent own recipe.  In the year 2012, both Irene and Ah Kong established their ‘Imperial Kitchen Bak Kut Teh’ restaurant at Kota Damansara with the aids of Ms. Jacqueline Lum the General Manager who is fully in charge and runs the management of the restaurant and also Mr. Lai Kim Sang (Uncle Lai) who assists in the daily operations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Surely the most recommended menu in the restaurant will be their two different bak kut teh, the ‘Teow Chew Bak Kut Teh’ which is clear herbal soup; mixed with spare ribs, stamoch and mushroom. And another will be their famous ‘String Tied Bak Kut Teh’ which always comes perfect match boiled with ‘small bones’ and ‘big bones’ in 18 types of herbs.  Nonetheless, their deep fried German ‘Five Spices Pork Knuckle’ is also the most wanted by the visitors but served limited daily, crispy battered but tasty to be in mouth is their specialty.  In addition, their ‘Teow Chew Premium Sea Treasure’ , ‘Hakka Salted Kampung Chicken’, ‘Stir Fried French Bean with Puer Tea’ and ‘Signature Honey Pork’ mixed honey in herbal recipe is also highly recommended by the chef.
