Mr. Chia Kian Keow and Mr. Mok Weng Hong who formerly classmates since their kids life are the founders and recently the owners for the “QQ BBQ Steamboat” at Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. This Steamboat restaurant famously serving foods that more than a buffet steamboat espacially on their seafood corner, not only variety of choices but providing live seafoods.
Mr. Chia who grown up in a construction equipments and materials supplier business family had touched and part timely stepped into the industry since his age of 12 years old in the year 1988 which founded by his grandfather in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. After his father retirement, Mr. Chia took up the responsibility to further expose and handling over the family business as the 3rd generation. Other than businessman, Chia also as a ‘Wu Shu Sparring Coach’ as his second hobby career. Fortunately, he has found his great interest in food and beverage career and himself love steamboat very much started his mission to own and establish a buffet steamboat restaurant.
While Mr. Mok Weng Hong who formerly grown up in a traditional home made food maker family. Since his age of about 4 years old was his 1st touched on food when he trying to help his father who doing ‘home made bakery’ for sell until his age of 21st years old. Recently he is a E&E maintenance professional for lab equipment manufacturer after his highest education. He too found his interest and love steamboat very much result the organisation and successfully established with Mr. Chia their very 1st korean style buffet steamboat restaurant named “QQ BBQ Steamboat” in the year 2010 at Kepong.
The most interesting in the steamboat restaurant will be their more than 100 variety choice on their fresh food choices. 3 types of soup base the spicy Tom Yam, healthy Chinese Herbal Soup and the fresh clear Chicken Soup also the attraction in the restaurant. ‘Satay’ sticks in chicken, pork, lamb, sotong and giant squid will be the most wanted and most running food in the restaurant especially by their regular customers.
Fresh vegetables, fresh meats, fish balls in types and fresh variety seafoods also served more than worth which their only charged RM26.80 per pax in their buffet steamboat restaurant. Nonetheless, one more very interesting that seldom found in other locals steamboat restaurant is their live seafood selection in the restaurant, such live shells species and shrimp to be served as much as you want.
