THE 1ST CHINESE ‘DIM SUM’ MASTER CHEF IN BRAZIL

According to Chinese history, ‘Dim Sum’ is one of the most favourite and the main dessert presentation among the Emporer Families since thousand of years ago.  Nowadays, creativity and presentation on ‘Dim Sum’ too represent a dim sum chef’s experience and status level.  Mr. Chy Hoi Sun also famously known as ‘Chef Chy’ together with his brother in-law Mr. Willie Wong Yoon Loy and Mr. Marcus Chin Soon Fuat who are the founders and recently the owners of the “Yun Lai Huat Dim Sum Restaurant” established in the years 2011 at Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

Chef Chy who also one of the Gold Winner holder for the International Dim Sum Competition in the year 2008 held at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) initially stepped into his f&b career in the year 1993 at his age of 23 as beginner at the ‘Super Noodle House’ at Sungei Wang Plaza for 2 years under his 1st ‘Master Ah Kin’.  Afterwards, he recruited himself into the ‘China Town’ at Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur as CDP Chef.  From there he found his great interest in Dim Sum and trying to approach under the supervision by his colleague ‘Master Ah Hing’ for another 2 years to further explore his career.  Chef Chy successfully become a ‘Dim Sum Chef’ in one of the dim sum restaurant at Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpue for 8 years before he established his first very owned dim sum stall at Kinrara, Puchong in the year 2003.  Later he joined the ‘Nichole Hotel’ at Jalan Ampang then underemployed in ‘Luk Yu Tea House’ at Star Hill Food Gallery for another 2 years before further exposed himself to Brazil as the 1st Chinese Dim Sum Chef in Brazil.  After returned to hometown Malaysia, Chef Chy together with his brother in-law Mr. Willie who initially a Kitchen Appliances Supplier and Mr. Marcus who is a Property Agent successfully established their “Yun Lai Huat Dim Sum Restaurant’ at Damai Perdana, Cheras in the year 2011.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For sure in a Dim Sum Restaurant, shrimp dumpling also known ‘Har Kau’ is one of the most wanted by visitors, here Chef Chy present their signature slim starch flour wrapped fresh shrimp dumpling which also the most recommended in the restaurant.  Besides, the Steamed Meat Ball mixed with chinese herbal such ‘tong gui’ and ‘gei chi’ also one of their exotic menu.  Nonetheless, the Steamed Green Mussel with fresh meat, prawn, garlic and the Spicy Dumpling with Lemongrass mixed with ‘xiang miao’, chilli, ginger’s flower are Chef Chy’s top recommended.  In dessert section, their very home made recipe ‘Guai Fa Gou’ will be the signature menu.
