But according to Ms. Helan Lee who is the founder and the owner of the recent “Helan Homestyle Cuisine Restaurant” at Cheras, her homestyle cuisine should means not only one’s home recipe but too using all natural ingredients from homemade is ‘Homestyle Cuisine’.
Ms. Helan who formerly a successful career lady as Managing Director for a Architecture Hardware organization quit her profession in the millenium year 2000 and stepped into the f&b industry at her age of 48 years old. She loves cooking very much and always share her home instinct productions with her family and friends, from there great supports from her asides she decided to entered the industry and established her very owned famous “Helan Homestyle Cuisine Restaurant” in the year 2009 at Bandar Mahkota Cheras to serve more her exotic homemade foods to the public.
While Helan’s eldest son, Maccain Yap Kitt Khai who stepped into the industry in the year 2007 at his age of 17 years old assisting Helan as kitchen helper. Under supervision and leads by his Master, who is his mother Helan, he finally took up the challenge became the main chef in their homestyle cuisine restaurant after two years. According to Helan, her main chef cum son Maccain is ‘the best chef she ever seen and have’ who also generated her instinct in cooking career.
This restaurant with the vision to serve every single menu home cook cuisine with natural ingrediants, homemade recipes and presenting the eatery taste to all their regulars. The most recommended in the restaurant will be their Honey Wine Chicken, which stewed with pure natural honey, homemade chinese rice wine topped with deep fried crispy slice ginger, which taste slightly sweet to suit the locals. Another will be the Homestyle Tau Foo which topped with their home recipe sauce, the unbelievable will be their handmade tau foo made from every single yellow bean without ‘bean head & skin’ presenting the natural clear healthy bean’s taste when scoop into mouth. Besides, the Claypot Ginger Paste River Talapia steamed mixed with fresh pure ginger then being heat up in claypot with their home recipe sauce will brings the best eatery. Nonetheless, Helan’s instinct very owned Curry Salted Fish Slice Meat also the most wanted in the restaurant, her curry paste blended with home recipe is the secret recipe. In the vegetable corner, their Organic Mixed Mushroom which fried mixed of 7 varieties mushrooms brings the perfect match and healthy to serve.
