The founder cum Hong Liang’s grandfather, a hainan migrant late Mr. Wong Ban Him (born in China, 1919-2001), who began their home recipe hainanese chicken rice career in the 1960s with partners along the Jalan Bukit Ubi, Kuantan initially named the “Capitol” Hainanese Chicken Rice then officially renamed as “New Capitol”. Later-on been generation passed onto the next generation (Hong Liang’s father) late Mr. Wong Jee Leong (born in Terengganu, 1949-2024) with another partner continued running as the 2nd generation in the year 2001 on the same ground serving their recipes with patience in the industry.

While the recent owner, 3rd generation Wong Hong Liang, who at his age of 40 years old currently, was initially stepped into the f&b field at his mid twenties began as a kitchen trainee experienced about 15 years in the career all the while touched the chinese cuisine field been given the responsibility to take-over and being generation passed onto the family’s career in the year 2023, also fully assisted by wife Jodie Saw & mother running in a family team continue serving their signatures to the public.
