THE EXOTIC LOCAL HALAL MALAY FOOD BY SALEHA’S
The Local Sabahan Ms. Saleha Binti Amirul who is the founder and the owner of the “Saleha’s Kitchen” at Likas, Kota Kinabalu Sabah serving the traditional local halal food to the public. Saleha’s more than 20 years experience and expose in the food & beverage industry enable her to own three restaurant and school canteen recently
Ms. Saleha who initially know nothing about cooking joined her sister in-law Kakak Rose helping in their canteen food stall at her age of 15 years old in the year 1991. Afterwards they exposed to rent a stall in a restaurant at Kota Kinabalu town selling local mixed rice also known ‘Nasi Campur’, from there Saleha found her great interest in the industry and experience her cooking for another year. Later on, she started her own school canteen stall in the year 1993 at Telipok, Sabah for about 8 years. While in the year 2000, Ms. Saleha established her very own first restaurant ‘Idaman Cafe’ at Jalan Gaya, Kota Kinabalu serving local muslim halal cuisine for another 3 years at the same time operating her canteen stall until 2009. After that, she take a two years break before again established her ‘Saleha’s Kitchen” at Likas, Sabah in the year 2011, secondly the ‘Restoran Empayar Kembara’ and another ‘Idaman Cafe’ in the year 2012 at Likas.
Other than operating canteen stall andhandling the 3 restaurants, Ms. Saleha too providing catering service for several occassions with the experience of preparing maximum 3000 pax per day.
At the menu corner, their home recipe Chicken with Oyster sauce or known ‘Ayam Masak Sos Tiram’ will be the most recomended and wanted by their regulars in the restaurant. Besides, the Fried Rice with mayonnis is one of their own creation made up of fried rice served together with fried chicken meat and fresh veges mixed with mayonnis. The famous local muslim cuisine ‘Soto Ayam’ will be Saleha’s Kitchen signature menu, the home recipe Soto soup is the secret in the restaurant. Moreover, the ‘Nasi Ayam Penyet’ originated from Indonesia made up of fried chicken piece after boiled served with Saleha’s own recipe Sambal, Tempe and veges to perfect the eatery. The Saleha’s Signature Curry Chicken which slight spicy also the recommended in the restaurant. A Sabah local mee known ‘Tuaran Mee’ originated from the a place called Tuaran away from town, is one of the restaurant famous menu. At the beverage corner, they present the Saleha’s ABC Fruits Special which served mixed ice blended with fresh local fruit slice topped with cold ice-cream.
