Mr. Liew Kit Siong (1955-2013) who was origin locally is the founder of the famous “Restoran Nan Bei” bak kut teh in Johor and 2nd generated to sons Mr. Liew Boon Seng and younger brother Mr. Liew Boon Chien since year 2013 recently having two outlets at Skudai, Johor.

Mr. Liew (father) who formerlyin stainless steel industry later quit and entered into food raw material supply in 1970s begans from supplying raw fresh duck then started to roast and supply roasted duck commenced in Singapore. In order to diversified and meet the market demand, he later additional supply some pork internal parts and started to provide chinese herbal until today handle by sons. Subsequently about to reached the millenium year 2000 established his bak kut teh herbal recipe and supplied to most of the bak kut teh food stall in Johor, Malaysia til recent.

Elder son Boon Seng who born in 1985 with age of 30 years old currently, stepped into the food and beverage industry since teenagers helping father in supplying food raw material and roasted duck. Then having interest and with vision to have own career to own a restaurant, subsequently established their very first bak kut teh restaurant also promoting their home recipe ‘pi pa duck’ in year 2010 known “Restoran Nan Bei” at Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, Johor operating by Boon Seng.

While younger son Boon Chien who born in year 1989 with 25 years old currently stepped into the food industry in the year 2011 at his age of 22 years old at the mean time established the 2nd outlet bak kut teh restaurant at Jalan NakJohor operating by Boon Chien.

In Restaurant Nan Bei, their home recipe herbal bak kut teh will be the top recommended in menu serving soup base boiled by fresh pork ribs, pork belly and intestine for more than 45 minutes with 11 chinese quality herbals.  Secondly will be their traditional Hakka Braised Port Trotter which taste slight sour presenting traditional home hakka recipe generated from family by 7 ingredients recipe braised for 2 hours, the oustanding is the port trotter fried before boiled with dry chili, matured ginger and matured garlic brings the exotic eatery you cannot missed.  Moreover, their very top signature wanted by their regulars and recommended to visitors will be their home recipe ‘Pi Pa Duck’ which fried after roasted makes the outer crispy chewing skin tasty best using duck weigh 1.6kg to 2kg (according to Boon Seng).
