The family 2 generation tradition home recipe wan tan mee by Mr. Lee Kim Soon who origin from Muar, Johor born in year 1965 is the founder and together with his both partners Mr. Ng Sai Chai and Mr. Lim Khai Seng are the recent owners of the “Restoran Soon Seng” Muar Wan Tan Mee in Johor Bahru.
Mr. Lee who with age of 49 currently initially touched the industry since kids in 1975 helping father in their wan tan mee roadside food stall in Jalan Sisi, Muar during his school holiday. Consequently he stepped into the food industry at his age of 17 years old in western cake & dessert profession in Muar for a year then travelled to Singapore in the year 1988 to further exposed his profession for another 3 years then to Brunei, later on to Sarawak. In year 2005, Lee returned to Muar helping his elder brother operating their father’s wan tan mee food stall about few years then stepped into roasted profession firstly reached Sabah then Kuala Lumpur to wider and sharpen his f&b experience.
After travelled more than 20 years exposed in the industry, Mr. Lee decided to explore into Johor met his hometown friend Mr. Lim Khai Seng who operating an restaurant with brother in law Mr. Ng Sai Chai at Taman Desa Cemerlang, eventually Lee established his first own wan tan mee stall in friend’s restaurant ‘Restoran Sum Chhin’ but unsuccessfull. While in year 2012, again Lee with Lim established their wan tan mee stall named ‘Soon Seng Wan Tan Mee’ in the ‘Ah Ming Restoran’ at Taman Anggerik presenting Lee’s family recipe wan tan mee.
Subsequent to the great response from the public, they realised the market opportunity then formed up with Mr. Ng who is local origin operating his own famous ‘Jim Jing Coffee’ supply in Johor Bahru, in the year 2013 finally established their very own first concept restaurant known “Restoran Soon Seng” Muar Wan Tan Mee at Taman Setia Indah, Johor Bahru presenting the two generation home recipe tradition wan tan mee.
In this mee restaurant, surely must try their top recommended tradition wan tan mee which with choice of dry kon lou in red sauce which taste spicy, in black which with their home recipe soya sauce or mixed. Either round or flat (mee pok) both using hand made mee from Muar produced without preservative and scientific ingredients. Their signature wan tan mee served topped with their own home made roasted char siew which made using fresh pork meat roasted with 12 ingredients recipe from Lee’s roasted experience brings the exotic taste.
