In tradition, this food made from flur boiled in soup base is home cooked by Hokkien and Hakka religious since hundred years ago now also known ‘Mee Hoon Kueh’ in Johor, Malaysia.  The local origin Madam Tan Siew Eng who born in year 1950 the Hokkien religious is the founder and together with her husband Mr. Wong Tick Sing who with age 67 years old currently, are the owners of the two outlet named “Kedai Makanan Mee Hoon Kueh” in Johor, Malaysia.

Madam Tan who recently with age of 64 years, formerly was in accounting field helping husband Mr. Tan in his stationery business initially both stepped into the food and beverage industry in the year 1984, 30 years ago after quit their stationery career.  They started their food industry journey from operating home base catering service for about 2 years then finally stepped into Madam Tan home recipe mee hoon kueh career since year 1986 established their roadside food stall at Taman Sentosa serving her generation passed home Hokkien recipe ‘Mee Hoon Kueh’ for another 8 years plus.

Subsequent to the great response from public and regulars, enabled them to further expose into shop lot established their very first owned specialize restaurant in the year 1997 at Jalan Sutera, Johor Bahru famously known as “Kedai Makanan Mee Hoon Kueh”.  While in the year 2010, expanded to second outlet at Taman Molek, Johor.

Their elder daughter Ms. Michelle Wong Sook Fern who born in year 1976 touched the industry since kids helping parents in their food stall, later on in the year 1991 at her age of 15 years old stepped into the industry and currently operating their Taman Sentosa main branch.  Younger son Mr. Jack Wong Zeng Jie who born in year 1983 stepped into the career at his age of 22 years old in year 2005 currently helping parents in Taman Molek outlet.

In this restaurant, their home recipe traditional clear soup mee hoon kueh for sure will be the top recommended which soup base boiled with ikan bilis for 2 hours brings the best taste.  Mee hoon kueh mixture of meat ball, fresh pork slice, mushroom, fried ikan bilis, fried onion and veges in their recipe soup base makes the perfect match.  Besides, they dry Kon Lao Mee Hoon Kueh topped with bean sprout, fried pork minced, fish cake, fried fish meat, ikan bilis and fried onion mixed with their recipe soya sauce brings the best eatery must try.  For those who like spicy can taste their Curry Mee Hoon Kueh which served in their more than an hours boiled curry soup made from home recipe curry paste and ikan bilis.  As side order, the Thai Style Fried Tau Fu is one of the most wanted signature food taken by their regulars as appertizer.  Fried tau fu mixed with their home made sweet and sour spicy sauce and topped with veges is also cannot missed in the “Kedai Makanan Mee Hoon Kueh”.
