“Sari Wangi” an Indonesian words which meaning for ‘spice’ or cooking recipe been presented by Indonesian Chinese originated Ms. Susan Kurniawan who born in Indonesia in the year 1959 was the founder of the exotic “Sari Wangi” Indonesian cuisine and been together with her lovely husband Mr. Billy Ng Tiang Oh who locally born in year 1956 are the owners, been assisting by their children in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Ms. Susan Kurniawan who with her age of 55 currently, touched food and beverage cooking experience since her teenagers in her home country been generated by her 4th Aunty on their tradition home recipe eatery about since her 15 years old in 1974.  This Indonesian Chinese who having great interest and with passion for cooking and eatery extremely insisting the quality on her food, even importing most of their recipe and raw materials direct from Indonesion to maintain their authenticity.

About more than 30 years ago, Susan met her husband Mr. Billy Ng in Jakarta, Indonesia built up their relationship then got married in year 1980, then been moved with husband reached Malaysia in year 1990 based in Johor Bahru as housewife all the while exercising her cooking practise at home and frequently by herself occupied most of her home parties and occassions catering on her interest.  While in year 2000, Susan grapped a chance to stepped into the f&b industry by established her very first food stall in Jalan Ngee Heng, Johor Bahru serving her home recipe Nasi Padang, having great response from the public but unfortunately discontinued afterwards.

In the end of year 2013, being supported by husband and her family’s members, Susan successfully re-stepped into the industry by established her very Indonesian Cuisine specialize restaurant at Taman Johor Jaya, Johor Bahru named “Sari Wangi” introducing most of her home recipe traditional home country exotic food and beverage to the local public.  Also even imported most of her restaurant fixtures and fittings from Indonesia in addition with the home-like decoration let those Indonesian customers feel like dinning at home.

Besides, their Signature Chicken Satay also one of the top menu most wanted by their regulars and visitors.  Using chicken drumstick meat roasted then tipping on their home recipe satay sauce never missed when stepped into ‘Sari Wangi’.  For those who like spicy can try their Curry Prawn or ‘Kari Udang’ cooked poured into carnation milk mixed into fresh deep sea prawn boiled with home recipe curry paste taken with fried ‘man tao’ or chinese pao brings the exotic taste.  On soup menu, introducing the ‘Soup Buntut’ means ox-tail soup never regret after consumed.  Another creation dish by Susan’s daughter the Tahu Telur which using fried taufu in pieces on top of fried egg then topped with fried egg shreddered poured onto recipe soya sauce getting great response from the customers.  Nonetheless in beverage corner, their fresh avocado juice and ‘ES Teler’ which is Indonesian Traditional ice dessert served topped with coconut slice, avocado slice, jackfruit or called ‘nangka madu’ and nuts must order when getting into “Sari Wangi” Indonesian Cuisine restaurant.

Newly introducing their home made Tafu Kipas which made mixture of beancurd and fresh prawn meat then deep fried brings the exotic signature dish added into menu must try with tipping on their recipe sauce provided.
