The husband and wife Mr. Michael Lim Chay Kee who originated from Klang, Selangor born in year 1960 was the founder together with his lovely wife Madam Kelly Lee Soo Kin who is Negeri Sembilan origin are the immediate owners of the “Restoran Bakuteh Lim Key” at Skudai, Johor introducing not only bak kut teh, but also curry fish head to the public.
Michael Lim who with his age of 54 years old recently, formerly was under-employed in Administration Industry initially reached Johor Bahru in year 1995 then stepped into the food and beverage industry in year 1996 together with wife established their very first restaurant serving bak kut teh named “Restoran Bakuteh Lim Key” at Taman Universiti, Johor. According to the founder Michael, his bak kut teh career was began from one of his good friend who formerly a bak kut teh seller encouraged and assisted him at the beginning when he operating his restaurant, later on been time to time improved his home recipe to suit local’s demand untill recent having great positive response from his regulars. Afterwards, in fact Michael and Kelly grapped the opportunity touched the curry fish head and been generation passed on recipe enabled them to have their very own home recipe currently emphasising by wife Madam Kelly who with her age of 49 recently.
Subsequent to the great response from their regulars and visitors, they moved their restaurant from Jalan Bebudayaan 8 to Jalan Kebudayaan 1A (recent location) after 5 years explosure to expose further in the industry at Taman Universiti in year 2001. At the beginning, Michael served his tradition home recipe bak kut teh in bowl but after being demand in the market forced to shift into claypot too attracted lots of locals and tourists especially from Singapore.
