‘Wantan Mee’ a traditional chinese food taken by Chinese Religious since thousand years ago also known previously ‘Tok Tok Mee’, nowadays still been serving throughout the nation in Malaysia also favourite by other religious. The local South Malaysian origin Madam Lee Meng Lim who born in year 1943 was the founder, then recently operating by second generation son Mr. Harry Lau Seak Khiow with age of 52 years old and wife Ms. Tan Khai Ling both Johoreans are the current owners of the 40 years history “Kedai Makanan Dan Minuman Poh Kee” introducing their home recipe wantan mee in Johor.
Madam Lee who with age of 71 years old recently, stepped into the food industry since year 1974 at her age of 31 years old with assisted by husband Mr. Lau Chee Khong (1934-2007) established their very first and owned roadside food stall with no signage at Kampung Baru Pandan, Johor selling their homemade laksa and wantan mee. Afterwards named “Khong Kee” then in year 1980s been registered as “Poh Kee” famous with their homemade recipe wantan noodles still operating recently.
From there, their 3 children been touched the industry since kids helping parents in their food stall and son Mr. Harry Lau who currently been generation passed on their home recipe operating recently with his lovely wife Khai Ling further exposed in the career. While in year 2010, Harry and wife successfully established their very first specialized shop at Jalan Harmonium, Taman Desa Tebrau to strengthen their 40 years homemade Wantan Mee and serve various homemade dishes to the locals and visitors.
In this noodle house, surely their Signature Wantan Noodle which in options of soup or dry kon lou will be the top recommended by founder. Soup base boiled with ikan bilis and yellow beans for an hour served with their handmade wantan inside will be the perfect match together with bowl of their wantan mee. Wantan with fresh pork minced insided and noodle topped with bites texture char siew slices brings a set of exotic Wantan Mee in town you must try when reached Johor. Secondly will be their Curry Mee also the founder Madam Lee’s home recipe cannot missed, curry paste fried from 8 secret ingredients then served in bowl with noodles topped with boiled egg, cockles, fish ball, fish cake slice, dry beancurd and bean sprouts will be a complete bowl of traditional Curry Laksa Noodle.
