THE LEE BROTHERS SPENT MORE THAN THEIR 20 YEARS IN FOOD INDUSTRY JOURNEY TOWARDS TODAY SUCCESS
One of the chinese religious traditional food taken since hundreds years ago ‘Chicken Rice’ and ‘Roasted’ nowadays become the favourite by all local Malaysians and visitors throughout the nations. In South Malaysia the Lee brothers Mr. Jacky Lee Wah Koo, the elder brother who born 1972 originated from Chaah, Segamat together with his younger brother Mr. Sam Lee Fah Kong with age of only 36 recently are the founders and immediate owners of the “Boss Lee Kitchen” roasted and chicken rice specialized restaurant in Ulu Tiram, Johor.
Jacky Lee and Sam Lee who grown up in f&b family at their father’s (Mr. Lee Chow Long) restaurant at Chaah, Segamat touched the industry since kids helping parents in restaurant during school off and weekends. Jacky who with age of 42 years old currently, initially stepped into the career at his age of 15 in year 1987 at Selangor joined his uncle’s chinese cuisine restaurant at Banting as kitchen trainee for few years began his profession. Later on he reached Singapore spent years to sharpen his career started to join a chinese cuisine restaurant from kitchen helper for another about seven years to become a chef, afterwards been recruited by Recreation House as Chinese Cuisine Chef for years before returned to home country based in Johor Bahru.
While Sam Lee who born in year 1978 also stepped into the career at his age of 15 years old in Singapore spent years in chinese cuisine field began as kitchen trainee to a recognized chef then back to Johor Bahru bodied-up with brother Jacky established their very first and owned food stall after Millenium Year in local food centre introducing their recipe cuisines to the public. Unfortunately they spent years in operating more than ten food stall at different locations and serving differ cuisines but facing failure brought them down in fact in their enterprenuership.
With the never give-up mentality and learnt from failure enabled them to change their future after a year committed deeply in the career finally established their 1st shoplot chinese cuisine restaurant at Taman Setia Indah, Johor Bahru in year 2007 began from a shoplot expended into 4 shoplots in 4 years reached 2011 named famously “Yi Jia Restoran”. Then exposed to second outlet at Taman Bukit Indah in year 2012, consequently 3rd coming up at Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur in 3rd quater 2014.
In order to expose further and introducing their home recipe roasted and chichen rice to the public. Jacky and Sam have established their new branding restaurant known “Boss Lee Kitchen” in July 2014 at Taman Desa Cemerlang presenting exotic roasted & chicken rice. In this specialized shop, the top recommended by founders will be their Signature Steamed Chicken which using local fresh chicken with weight of about 1.8-2kg boiled for 45 minutes in their soup base to brings the best chicken meat texture served poured onto their home recipe soya sauce you never missed when reached Johor.
Secondly will be their crispy Roasted Pork Belly which served in cutted cubes you must try especially tipping on their homemade sauce. Others will cannot aside is the Honey BBQ Pork or locally known ‘Char Siew’, roasted topped with honey and recipe sauce brings the best eatery in town. In their steamed soup selections, the recommended will be their Signature Cordyceps Soup with chinese herbals cooked for hours good for health also one of the most wanted by visitors. Nonetheless, Lees’ family recipe Pan Fried Beancurd in Hakka Style also introduced in “Boss Lee Kitchen” which pan fried then stewed in their recipe sauce soup with beancurd insided mixture of fish and pork you will never regret after consumed.
