With the rich natural seafood resources our country Malaysia have, fresh ‘Fish Ball’ and other foods material from fish meat been hundred years well known taken not only by locals but also visitors from around the world. The Johorean originated from Yong Peng, Johor Mr. Lum Keong Kuay who born in year 1955 together with his wife Madam Lau Sock Yang born 1956 were the founders and owners of the “Kedai Makanan & Minuman Sock Yang” curry mee and fish ball noodles house in South Malaysia.

Mr. Lum who with his age of 59 years old recently, was formerly been 35 years in HandCraft Industry which spent ten years initially assisting uncle in Muar, Johor later on established himself the production career for another 25 years in hometown Yong Peng.  Mr. & Mrs. Lum who all the while having interest in eatery stepped into the food and beverage industry in year 2005 at his age of 50 presenting their home recipe curry mee and hometown’s well known fish ball noodle began in Kluang, Johor.  Named “Kedai Makanan & Minuman Sock Yang” at Taman Intan.

Their second generation, younger daughter Winnie Lum Li Xin who born year 1993 touched the industry since her age of 13 years old helping parents in the noodle house during weekends and school off, stepped into the industry after her education in year 2010 untill recent to further expose their career.  While the elder son Lum Zhong Yen with age of 31 recently began to step into and helping parents in year 2012.

In this noodle house, the top recommended among menus will be their home recipe Signature Curry Mee which cooked from their in-house curry paste made from mixture of 12 Mrs. Lum’s secret ingredients added into coconut milk and fresh milk which taste exotic and spicy.  Served with fried beancurd, dried beancurd or locally known ‘tau pok’, fish ball, long beans, cockles, beansprout and fried ‘fu pi’ presenting a complete bowl of their Curry Mee you must try when reached Kluang, Johor.  Especially tipping onto their home made ‘Sambal’ which made from dried chili, shrimp and chili padi.

Secondly cannot aside will be their famous and signature Fish Ball Noodles with more than five noodles options cooked with their soup base which boiled for half hours with fresh fish bones brings the best freshness served insided with fresh fish ball which brings the best texture when bites in mouth, is one of the most wanted by their regulars and visitors.  Matching with their in-house blended hot chili padi makes you never forget.

Other than soup, they also serving Dry Kon Lou Noodles which well known as ‘Fook Chew Noodles’ in Yong Peng.  Cooked mixed with home recipe soya sauces then topped with home fried pork minced you never regret aften taken.  Nonetheless, Yong Tau Foo with various selections all insided by their handmade 100% fish meat paste produced from ‘yellow tail fish’ or locally known ‘taufu fish’, will also the top seller in this noodle house.  Choices of red chili, long bean, lady finger, eggplant, dried tau foo, white tau foo, fish cake, bittergourd etc. you cannot missed when stepped into the “Kedai Makanan & Minuman Sock Yang” in Kluang, Johor.
