One of the famous and frequently taken by locals since hundred year ago the “Hainanese Chicken Rice” also been welcome in South Malaysia. The Johorean Mr. Maa Kan Hong who born in 1st January 1964 originated from Paloh, Kluang was the founder and owner of the “Kedai Makanan Xin Kii” hainanese boneless chicken rice at Taman Gunung Lambak. Recently been assisted by wife Madam Gan Bee Heong born 1969 and son Maa Wei Hou presenting their home recipe to the public.
Mr. Maa Kan Hong who with his age of 50 currently, initially stepped into the food and beverage industry since year 1981 at his age of only 17 years old reached Singapore as trainee in a chicken rice food stall for three years. Unfortunately in 1984, he forced to return to home town and helping father in their agriculture industry made him quit the f&b career for another few years. Later on joined construction industry for another few years.
With Maa’s interest in eatery and wishing to have his owned f&b career allowed him to established his very first and own chicken rice stall at Paloh, Kluang named “Xin Kii” in year 1992 re-stepped into the industry. In order to further expose, he moved to bigger market continue operating his chicken rice stall at Kluang Baru in year 1995 for another 3 years, then moved to Taman Gunung Lambak. While in year 1999, Maa successfully established his hainanese boneless chicken rice specialized shop named “Kedai Makanan Xin Kii” at Taman Gunung Lambak.
His wife Madam Gan who at her age of 45 recently, stepped into the f&b industry since 1995 helping husband in their explosure began at Kluang Baru untill current specialized shop. Their son Wei Hou who since kids been touched the career helping parents in the shop during school off and holiday afterwards in year 2011 been stepped into the industry assisting father.
In this restaurant, the founder’s top recommended selection surely their Hainanese Boneless Boiled Chicken. Local chicken with weight of about 1.8-1.9kg been used then boiled in plain water for an hour then keep in ice water for 30 minutes to keep the best meat texture and maintain the chicken skin smoothness when putting into mouth. Another will be their Roasted Chicken, chicken boiled in home recipe herbal soup base for only about ten minutes then deep fried for another 15 minutes and served poured onto home recipe sauce also the most wanted by their regulars and visitors. Especially taken with their home cooked chicken oily rice, and tipping onto their home made chili sauce. You will never regret after consumed.
