“Seafood”, one of the Malaysia’s richest natural resources and one of the country tourism factor been served throughout the nation. The local origin Mr. Richard Tiew Kim Eing who born in year 1961 at Kluang, Johor was the founder of “Kluang Seafood Village” together with the Chief Chef cum partner Mr. Soo Kok Long who born 1964 in Kuala Lumpur, introducing one-stop seafood selection under a roof at Kluang, Johor.
Mr. Richard Tiew who with his age of 53 years old currently, been more than 30 years in Construction & Development Industry stepped into the food and beverage industry since year 2011. His interest in eatery and mission to provide locals the one stop service and dinning selection allowed him to initially established his very first chinese cuisine restaurant named “Tiong Hwa Restaurant” in year 2011, which enables function dinning-in for more than thousand pax with maximum 170 tables.
While in year 2012, Mr. Soo Kok Long joined “Tiong Hwa Restaurant” as their Chief Chef further exposed to served their clients in better manner. Mr. Soo who been stepped into the chefing career since year 1981, at his 17 years old began as kitchen trainee in a chinese cuisine restaurant at Jalan Tong Sin, Kuala Lumpur for about a year then recruited by “Restaurant Sek Wei Tian”(pronouns) for another ten years enabled him to sharpen and strengthen his chefing skills and experiences. He also been practised in China, Australia, Singapore and Brunei experienced his profession before joined “Lok Fook Garden”(pronouns) as main chef, before reached Kluang Johor.
With the opportunity grapped, Richard Tiew and Soo successfully established their seafood village in year 2014 beside their “Tiong Hwa Restaurant” wishing to provide better and relax environment to the visitors in a one-stop seafood selections under a roof, named “Kluang Seafood Village” at Jalan Wayang, Kluang. Introducing local and imported seafoods cooked in their Chief Chef Mr. Soo’s home recipe.
In this seafood restaurant, the first recommended by founders will be their signature Wrapped Herbal Chicken. Local village chicken or known ‘kampung chicken’ been fried with soya sauce then added into 9 herbal mixtures boiled for an hour, then wrapped with breads BBQ roasted for half an hour before served with whole chicken inside you must try when reached Kluang, Johor.
Secondly will be their very top seller Signature Boston Lobster. Imported lobster raw steamed in claypot with poured into their home made sauce paste made up of fried mixtures of garlic, chilis and gingers brings the best eatery in town and presenting the exotic taste, also the lobster meats texture itself you never regret after taken. Another will be their Thai Style Lime Steamed Squid, which fresh squid cutted into pieces mixed with their in-house traditional Thai sauce made of garlic, chilis, pineapple cubes etc brings three taste of sour, sweet and spicy. One of the most wanted by their regulars especially for those who likes spicy.
Besides, the Claypot Steamed Talapia also one of the recommended among menus. Fresh Talapia fish raw steamed in claypot with 3 ingredients home recipe soya sauce, added into slight rice wine, topped with mushroom and ginger shredded brings the top class dishes with basic raw materials combination.
Nonetheless, Traditional Salted Steamed Crab in aluminium wrapping too one of their top seller. Imported crab from Indonesia with weight of 800 grams to 1kg been used marinated with rough salt then wrapped with aluminium paper steamed about 30 minutes with slight chinese herbal ‘tang gui’ insided brings the original natural crab’s freshness taste and meats texture you cannot missed when stepped into “Kluang Seafood Village” Kluang, Johor.
