A traditional Malacca authentic food taken decade ago, the “Chicken Rice Ball” recently attracted much visitors from around the world especially along the “Jonker Walk” street in this World Herritage City.  The Johorean Mr. Cheang Khai Tuck who born in year 1976 was the founder and immediate owner of the “Jonker Street Chicken Rice Ball” restaurant presenting his home made chicken rice and local nyonya cuisine to the locals and visitors.

Cheang Khai Tuck or known Ah Tuck who with his age of 38 years old currently, was in Recycle Industry for about twelve years initially stepped into the food and beverage industry since year 2010 at his age of 34 years old in Malacca.  Ah Tuck who having interest in eatery and grapped an opportunity to learn his chicken rice ball experience from his master ‘Ah Kit’ in Malacca enabled him to later on established his very first restaurant named “Jonker Street Chicken Rice Ball” in Lorong Hang Jebat, Malacca introducing to the public his hand made chicken rice ball.

In order to various the choices in the restaurant and to bring more local Malacca’s authentic menu to the visitors, Ah Tuck experienced the Nyonya Cuisine from his master ‘Chef Fred’ who is a Baba generation after 2 years running the restaurant.  Recently serving a complete Chinese Chicken Rice cuisine and Nyonya Cuisine under one roof in Ah Tuck’s eating house.

In this restaurant, the top recommendation will be their Signature Chicken Rice Ball which hand made daily to keep the freshness.  Rice cooked with ginger, chicken stock soup base brings the exotic taste.  Local chicken with weight of about 2.3kg boiled 50 minutes in soup base insided with only salt and pandan leaf is Ah Tuck’s home recipe presenting his smooth boiled chicken then served poured onto their in-house recipe soya sauce, you must try when reached Jonker Walk street in Malacca.

Secondly will be their top selling Nyonya Pongteh bak or pork, which using pork belly stewed for about an hour.  Is a traditional nyonya religious dish of shallot, soy beans, potato and mushroom you never regret after tasted.

Another will be their Sambal Udang Petai or known Sambal Prawn.  Cooked with local “Ming Prawn” stir fried with chilli, prawn paste tamarind and added into their home made sambal paste made up of more than 10 ingredients mixture also one of the most wanted by their regulars and visitors.

Moreover, their Nyonya Ayam Rendang also among the recommended.  Chicken braised with local spices with tumeric leaves, kaffir leaves then boiled nearly half an hour added into their home recipe 8 ingredients mixture brings one the best eatery in town.  That taste like combination of chinese and malay cuisine, called nyonya style you need to have a try when reached the historic city.

Nonetheless, the Signature Udang Lemak Nanas or known Pineapple Prawn in soup you cannot missed when stepped into the “Jonker Street Chicken Rice Ball” restaurant.  This dish prepared in pineapple curry with fresh prawn poured into fresh ideal milk and coconut milk.
