The local Pulau Pinang originated Mr. Lau Ee Chin who born in year 1938 was the founder of their family recipe “Bridge Street Prawn Noodle” in year 1961. Been currently generation passed onto recipe and continue their explosure by grandson Lau Yong Lin who with his age of 30 recently, is the owner of the specialized shop operating in Bayan Lepas introducing their family’s traditional home recipe Hokkien Mee to the market in better manner.
Founder Mr. Lau Ee Chin who with his age of 76 years old, was formerly a Soy Sauce Maker initially stepped into the f&b industry in year 1961 at his age of 23 years old ruunning his very first roadside food stall with no name beside bridge in front of the central market along Jalan Macalister, Georgetown introduced his home recipe “Hokkien Mee” began his career for about 40 years there.
With the assist by his son Mr. Lau Teik Eang (born 1961, 2nd generation) stepped into the industry in year 1999 helping in their family food stall, and having great reponse from the public enabled them to expand then moved into a shop lot along Jalan C.Y.Choy, Georgetown in year 2000 formally named it “Bridge Street” Hokkien Mee or Prawn Mee operating by father and son still available untill today.
While their 3rd generation Lau Yong Lin who born locally in year 1984, was formerly a Marketing Surveyer in Kuala Lumpur touched the family career since kids helping father and grandfather in their food stall decided to quit his profession and returned to hometown Penang stepped into the food industry in year 2012. With his great interest in the eatery industry and wishing to continue his family’s career allowed Yong Lin to establish their very owned 1st hokkien mee specialized shop in February 2012 registered as “Bridge Street Prawn Mee” at Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang being assisted by his younger sister Ms. Lau Yee Mei both took up their 3rd generation responsibility.
