ENTERING 15 YEARS “AH NIU” WANTAN MEE BY MADAM NG & DAUGHTER WINNIE LIM FROM ROADSIDE STALL INTO SPECIALIZED RETAIL OUTLET
“Wantan Mee” which originated from China decades ago also known as “Tok-Tok Mee” formerly been hundred year practised in our nation Malaysia brought into and running by Chinese religious, recently still frequently favourites by locals and also visitors from around the world, same in the World Herritage Site Penang.
The local originated Madam Ng Yuet Leng who born in year 1970 was the founder, currently with her daughter Ms. Winnie Lim Wei Tee with age of 28 years old are the immediate owners of the local well known “Ah Niu” Wantan Noodle specialized retail outlet operating in Bayan Lepas, Penang introducing their 15 years home recipe to the public.
Madam Ng Yuet Leng who with her age of 44 years old currently, was grown up in the food industry family is the 3rd generation of her family’s roasted career. She also been running her own food stall in Georgetown selling Duck Mee Sua and Lok-Lok before stepped into the Wantan Noodle field in year 2000. Madam Ng established her very first roadside Wantan Mee stall at her age of 30 years old along Terengganu Road, Penang named “Ah Niu Wantan Mee” serving her home recipe noodles. Recently still operating in Desa Aman, Relau as a foodcourt stall.
While daughter Winnie Lim who born locally in year 1986, initially stepped into the f&b industry since her age of only 18 years old recruited herself into the Mexican cuisine restaurant “Bequadro Cafe” in Georgetown in year 2004 as waitress began her career. Winnie then spent few years in the industry to experience variety cuisine field to sharpen her profession before running her 1st owned western food stall in the herritage site since year 2008, later on moved to Madras Lane, Penang after a year still on-going recently.
With the great response on Madam Ng’s “Ah Niu” wantan noodle and foreseen the market opportunity by Winnie in the industry enabled the mother and daughter decided to further expose their home recipe noodles, then established their very owned 1st specialized shop in Bayan Lepas formally named “Ah Niu Wantan Noodle” in year 2014.
In this noodle house, the founder’s top recommended in menus surely will be their home recipe traditional Wantan Noodle or Wantan Mee. Noodles prepared with their in-house sauce made from Madam Ng’s 4 secret ingredients combination, then served topped with roasted pork (char siew), veges and sided with home made wantan (pork dumpling) brings a complete set of their exotic wantan mee you must try.
Secondly will be their generation family home spices Black Vinegar Pork Trotter. Fresh local pork legs selected boiled 2 hours in their recipes with insided ginger, then poured into portion of sesame oil and quality black vinegar will be one of the best eatery in town. Also one of their top selling dish in the noodle house.
Others, the Curry Chicken also among their signature in the restaurant. Chicken drumstick selected boiled an hour with their home prepared curry paste, then mixed into potato can be served with white rice or frequently served with their wantan noodles upon client’s demand. Besides curry, their Steamed Boiled Chicken also the most wanted by regulars especially when served poured onto their home made soy sauce mixture you never regret after consumed.
In side order corner, their home made Deep Fried Dumpling wrapped insided with 3 veges combination, prawn and pork minced is one of the favourites in menus.
