Dishes with “Wild Frog” is one of the authentic eatery not easily found everywhere in city areas previously, but recently been one of the favourites by locals been prepared in various recipes, realised is good for health.  Also been exposed in South Malaysia, Penang found the well known “Frog House” running in specialized shop.

Both the local Penang originated Mr. Ong Kok Leong who born in year 1972 and Mr. Fredy Tan Ching Kang (born 1976) were the founders and initial owners of the local recognized “Frog House” specialized outlet introducing their home recipe on wild frog and chinese cuisine in Bayan Baru, Pulau Pinang.

Ong Kok Leong who with his age of 42 years old currently, is in Engineering Industry initially stepped into the food industry since mid of year 2014.  With his great interest in eatery and foreseen the market opportunity in the f&b industry enabled him to body-up with friend Fredy Tan began their career in the industry.

While Fredy Tan who at his age of only 38 years old, is in Industrial Supplies Trading been stepped into the f&b field since 2013 with friend running their chinese cuisine retaurant in Penang but unfortunately ended after a year.  Then in year 2014 established with Kok Leong, their very owned specialized retail named “Frog House” along Jalan Mahsuri presenting their variety home recipe selections in wild frog series and others chinese cuisines menus to the public been assisted by their Chief Chef Por Wei Siang from Perlis who having 15 years experience in the field, also been sharpen-up his profession in Singapore for seven years before reached Penang.

In this “Frog House”, the founder’s top recommended among their wild frog menus will be the Crispy Frog with Salted Egg Yolk.  Fresh wildlife frog with weight of about 2.8kg been selected prepared in stir fried with salted egg yolk and their 4 ingredients mixture brings the salted and sweet taste you must have a try, especially the frog meats freshness itself being presented out and the chewing frog meats texture when bites.

Secondly will be their Sauteed Frog with Bean Paste, also the signature in the restaurant not frequently found in others.  Frog been cleaned then fried seconds through boiled oil reached 70% cooked then stir with their home spices bean paste and mixed into onions, chili, garlic and ginger shredded taste slight spicy, is one of the best eatery in town.

Other than frog, they introduced one among the top selling in the restaurant ‘Beancurd with Minded Chicken & Salted Fish’.  Home made beancurd from fresh soy milk mixed with chicken eggs steamed prepared, deep fried in small cube then stir stewed with chicken meats and salted fish in their in-house recipe sauce finally served boiled in claypot you never regret after tasted.

Moreover, the restaurant owners too introduced their Nyonya Sauce Fish which also the signature in among seafood series.  Grouper fish and ‘Sia Kap’ local fish been frequently served poured onto their home made nyonya sauce spices and sided with eggplants which brings exotic sour and spicy taste, will be one of the most wanted by their regulars.

Nonetheless, they also served the very traditional chinese authentic steamed soup, the Bitter Melon Spare Ribs Soup which need to be steamed at least 5 hours before served.  Cooked insided with local village bitter gourd, red dates and pork spare ribs will brings the freshness and smooth taste you must spooned it, and fresh wild frog can be added into upon client’s demand will be the perfect matching you really cannot missed when stepped into the “Frog House” at Bayan Baru, Pulau Pinang.
