“Dim Sum” is one of the Chinese religious traditional eatery practised since thousand years ago in China, being recently become favourites not only by Chinese but also likes by other religious around the world, also frequently found everywhere in our nation Malaysia mostly presented in fine dining by Chinese generation.  In Penang found a specialized Dim Sum retail introduce their home recipe to the public.

Mr. Luo Jin Hua who originated from Guangdong, China born in year 1983 was the founder, together with his lovely wife Ms. Ng Jeat Ming who originated from Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia both are the initial owners of the “Hua Kee Dim Sum” restaurant serving various home made fine Dim Sum selections to the locals and visitors at Bayan Baru, Pulau Pinang.

Luo Jin Hua or known “Hua Chai”, also the Chief Chef in the restaurant, having great interest in the industry initially stepped into the field since year 1998 at his age of only 15 years old in his home town Guangdong, China been recruited as kitchen trainee began his career in the ‘New Century’(pronouns) Dim Sum Restaurant spent about 3 years there experienced the profession.  Later on joined few others local famous dim sum restaurants in ten years time in order to sharpen up his skills in the career.

In year 2008, Hua Chai reached Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia been offered him as Dim Sum Chef in the local well known “Dragon-I Restaurant” started his profession explosure in Malaysia for about few years before exposed into North Malaysia, Penang.  Hua Chai and his wife Jeat Ming forseen the market opportunity and wishing to have their own enterprenuership after their visits to the World Herritage Site Penang enabled them to begin their home dim sum production and supply career at Penang in year 2011 registered as “Cai Tie Xuan Enterprise”.

Subsequent to the great response from the market after few years exposed locally, enabled the husband and wife established their very 1st and owned dim sum restaurant specialized retail along Jalan Mahsuri, Pulau Pinang in year 2014 formally named “Hua Kee Dim Sum” presenting their recommended variety choices of traditional dim sum menus.

In the restaurant, the founder’s top recommended among menus surely will be the dim sum kings selection ‘Siu Mai’, ‘Ha Kao’ and ‘Pai Kut’ or known Steamed Spare Ribs.  Their traditional home made Siu Mai prepared wrapped insided with local fresh pork minced and topped with fresh fish egg paste steamed about 8 minutes, and the Ha Kao wrapped insided with fresh prawn will be the top selling.  Somemore their home spices Steamed Spare Ribs with soy bean paste you must have a try when reached Penang.

Others, they served the Shanghai ‘Siu Loong Pau’ which as one of their signature not frequently found in Penang.  Fresh pork minced mixed with ginger shredded and their recipe soup base boiled 3 hours with matured chicken prepared wrapped in home made flur wrapper then served after few minutes steamed brings the best exotic taste in town, especially taken tipping onto the ginger vinegar sauce.

Moreover, their hand made ‘Char Siew Pau’ prepared using in-house Hua Chai’s 8 ingredients mixture stir char siew insided into their home made flur pao also among the recommended.  And the ‘Liu Sa Pao’ which made insided with mixtures of salted egg yolk and butter milk you never regret after taken, especially the leaking paste when bites.

In fried dim sum menus, the owners presenting their newly introduced Deep Fried Cheese Prawn.  Fresh prawn meat mixed with cheese wrapped then deep fried served in pair, taken tipping onto the mayonnaise provided will the best eatery, also the most wanted by their regulars.
