THE TANs BROTHER & SISTER EXPOSED THEIR HOME SEAFOOD RECIPE IN “HONG XING SEAFOOD” AT NORTH MALAYSIA

“Seafood” will always the favourites by locals and also our nation’s natural minerals attraction to those visitors from other countries, one of the main potential effect to our country’s food and beverage industry growth.  One of the recognised seafood restaurant in Penang carried by Tans brother and sister having great response from the local market on their home recipe menus to be introduced.

The both local originated Ms. Tan Siew Lee who born in year 1986, together with her younger brother Mr. Tan Hua Tang (born 1996) were the founders and the recent owners of the “Hong Xing Seafood Restaurant” at Butterworth introducing most of their home recipe selections to the public along Jalan Raja Uda, Penang.

Tan Hua Tang who with his age of 19 years old currently, who also the main chef of the restaurant initially stepped into the industry since year 2008 at his age of 12 years old recruited himself as food stall helper in the “Era Jimat Food Court” at Butterworth for about a year then joined the “New 99 Restaurant” as kitchen trainee began his career in the industry.  With his great interest in chefing and eatery since kids allowed Hua Tang to further his explosure, afterwards been joined a seafood restaurant in Bagan Ajam then again sharpen his experience in the “Golden Claypot Restaurant” in Chai Leng Park became a recognized Chef in year 2012.

While elder sister Tan Siew Lee who is a Marketing Executive, realised the potential growth in f&b industry and wishing to grap the opportunity bodied-up with younger brother Hua Tang successfully established their very first and owned seafood restaurant in the end of 2013 at Raja Uda, Butterworth named “Hong Xing Seafood Restaurant” serving their home recipe menus to the locals and visitors.

In this seafood house, the founders top recommended menu will be their Teoh Chew Steamed Fish.  Fish selection to be on client’s demand prepared with their home made recipe water lime sauce mixed with in-house 6 ingredients mixture, then steamed for about 5 minutes served topped with tomatoes, salted veges, mushroom, ginger shredded and fried onions brings the sour and salted taste you must have a try, especially the fish freshness exotic stocks brought out in the steamed sauce.

Secondly will be their Salted Egg Yolk Crab, also one of their top seller in the restaurant.  Fresh sea crab of about 500grams each imported from Indonesia been selected prepared in deep fried after cleaned then stir fried with salted egg yolk brings the exotic and authentic salted taste you will never regret after taken.  Also one of the best eatery in town mosted wanted by visitors.

Another will be their Traditional Tom Yam Seafood Pot served boiled with charcoal on table.  In-house tom yam paste prepared fried with Hua Tang’s 4 ingredients mixtures then served boiled insided with fresh ‘Lala’ clam, crab, fish slice, cuttlefish, squid and fishball presenting a complete pot of the recommended Tom Yam Seafood, also one of their top signature menu in the restaurant.  The Northern spicy and sour taste brought out from the tom yam pot you cannot missed when reached North Malaysia.

Moreover, their Garlic Steamed Lala also among the recommended.  Fresh local Lala prepared in few minutes steamed with garlic shredded mixed with chillies and their home recipe spices will brings the clams freshness you cannot aside.  This will be the favourites by those who likes Lala, cannot stop taken after tasted.

Nonetheless, their Signature Beancurd which home made to be introduced.  In-house homemade beancurd from fresh soya milk and chicken egg mixture steamed for about 8-10 minutes, then deep fried served topped with home recipe sauce and mix veges you cannot missed when stepped into the “Hong Xing Seafood Restaurant”, especially the beancurd smoothness itself when swallowed into mouth.
