The Singaporean Mr. Oh Chwee Hoe who born in year 1954 was the founder, together with his lovely wife Madam Kang Lee Chuin (born 1962) who is Penang origin both are the initial and immediate owners of the local well known “Zi We Yuan Steamboat” fish head pot restaurant along Jalan Raja Uda, Penang introducing their home made recipes to the market into 15 years.

Chef Oh Chwee Hoe (Chef Oh) who with his age of 61 years old currently, stepped into the food & beverage industry since year 1969 at his age of 15 worked as helper in a restaurant in Punggol, Singapore for about six years where he began his career experience in the industry.  Later on in year 1975 running his very owned food stall starting serving chinese cuisine selection then approached into seafood field and trying to touched fish head noodles moving around in Singapore reached 1997.

While in year 1998, Chef Oh together with wife Lee Chuin returned to Pulau Pinang, and running their economic mixed rice stall in a restaurant at Raja Uda for 2 years before began their home recipe charcoal fish head pot established a roadside stall with few tables named “Zi We Yuan” in year 2000.  Subsequent to the great response from the public enabled the couple exposed into their 1st and very owned specialized restaurant officially named “Zi Wei Yuan Steamboat” along Jalan Raja Uda, the recent location, began in 2011 continue their career explosure in the f&b industry being recognised in year 2015 as one of the best eatery in nation.
