SEE THOU FAMILY CARRIED THEIR “FRIED” FISH NOODLES INTO 2ND GENERATION, ALSO THE FIRST IN TOWN

In Malaysia, one of the famous and favourites by locals practised everywhere recently the “Fish Head Noodles” by respective recipes.  But the founder of “Fried Fish Noodle” in Gerogetown carried by 2-generation See Thou family found and being recognised as one of the best in “Tong Lek” fish noodle specialized shop.

The local originated Mr. See Thou Hooi (1950-2013) was the founder of the firstly fried fish noodle “Tong Lek”, been assisted by wife Madam Lee Lay Peng (born 1956) were the initial owners.  Then recently been generation passed onto son Mr. See Thou Sunny who born in year 1978 with wife Ooi Siew Mun (born 1979) running their fried fish noodle specialized shop along Jalan Macalister, Georgetown.

The founder See Thou Hooi who began his very first food and beverage career since year 1968 running his pork mix noodles stall in the ‘New Golden Hill Kopitiam’  in Macalister Road, where he began his explosure in the industry reached 1980s.  Later on moved to the opposite food court with named “Tong Lek” and introducing his newly “Fried Fish Belly” and “Fried Fish Fillet” noodle soup to the public which also where the “Fried Fish” eatery began in Gerogetown, according to his son Sunny.

While See Thou Sunny (son) who at his age of 37 years old currently, stepped into the industry since kids helping parents in their noodle stall fully took over and been generation passed onto recipe in year 2009 continued family career in Georgetown.  Subsequent to the great response from visitors enabled Sunny to established their very 1st and owned specialized shop in year 2014 also along Macalister Road officially named “Tong Lek Eight Cafe”, being assisted by wife Siew Mun.

In this noodle house, the top recommended by owner surely will be their signature “Deep Fried” Fish Fillet.  Commomly grouper and ‘karak fish’ selected, marinated with their in-house 4 spices recipe then deep fried with flur brings very exotic freshness and crispy taste in bites.  Recently to be served sided with bowl of their noodle soup cooked in their 3 hours boiled pork bones soup base you must have a try when reached the world herritage site Georgetown.

For those who like spicy can taste their noodles in curry or white tom yam (without fats) which also the most wanted by regulars brings taste of sour & spicy unlike other tom yam soup in the town.  Taken with their signature home Deep Fried Fish Belly also to be one of the best eatery found in Penang you never regret after consumed.  Especially the fish freshness and exotic bites when taken into mouth.

Moreover, their father’s (founder) nearly half decade 50 years traditional home recipe Pork Mix Noodle also among the recommended in menus.  Which served insided with pork minced, fish ball, meat ball, intestine, liver, kidney and dried beancurd presenting a complete bowl of their pork mix noodle soup cannot aside.  Recently also been commonly served sided with plate of their signature deep fried fish fillet, the top seller in the noodle house.

Nonetheless, in order to various their choices in menu, newly introduced the home cooked Black Vinegar Pork Trotter.  Prepared braised 2 hours without white vinegar, added into their secret 5 ingredients mixture recipe then served manner in bowl brings sour and sweet taste you cannot missed when stepped into the “Tong Lek Eight Cafe” or locally known “Tong Lek Fried Fish Noodle” in Georgetown, Pulau Pinang.
