While in year 2014, May Soong with the great supports from family members and with the bak kut teh home recipe hold enabled May successfully established her bak kut teh career in concept along Jalan Sultan Iskandar (recent location ) with name “Tea Bones Cafe” introducing her recipe to the locals, being now running by her son Kelvin who having great interest in chefing, serving their traditional and creation signature menus.
In this restaurant, the founders top recommended in menus will be their traditional home cooked Bak Kut Teh Soup which soup base boiled 45 minutes with 16 ingredients included herbals then dropped into pork meats, internal parts and bones. Served in claypot with options of spare ribs, belly pork, trotter, intestine, stomach etc mixed with dried beancurd and veges brings the exotic taste you must try when reached the Ipoh New Town.
Other than soup, their Dry Bak Kut Teh also the signature and most wanted by regulars which is May’s recipe. Home made recipe soy sauce from few ingredients mixture added into their in-house soup base, fried in claypot with pork meat, stomach, intestine, ribs and belly pork then served mixed with dried cuttlefish, dried chillies and lady finger brings an authentic Tea Bones’ famous dry bak kut teh pot taste salted and spicy you never regret after taken.
Another among recommended is their home recipe Claypot Rice Wine Chicken which taste sweet and exotic. Local village feeded chicken commonly selected cutted into cubes, fried with ginger shredded then stewed for another about 10 minutes with poured into rice wine served in claypot will be one of the best eatery in town.
