The founder Wong Chiew Sun or known “Lou Wong” who with his age of 76 years old currently, touched the f&b career since 1955 at his 16 years old helping father Mr. Wong Swee Cheong (born 1903-1957) in their roadside food stall (since 1930s) along Jalan Yau Tet Shin selling pork and chicken porridge, being took over father’s stall in year 1957 when father passed away.
In order to various eatery and meet the market demand, Lou Wong began in 1959 introduced his chicken noodle soup insided with chicken shredded and beansprout which frequently known as “Ipoh Chicken Shredded Kuey Teow” nowadays. From here, customer request chicken and beansprout to be served seperately, where “Ipoh Beansprout Chicken” came into since year about early 1960s, being one of the Ipoh authentic eatery icon well known around the world.
While in year 1986, Lou Wong moved his food stall into the 1st retail lot, which is the recent main branch location, named “Restoran Tauge Ayam Lou Wong” at Jalan Yau Tet Shin, Ipoh Newtown with assited by nephew Simon Leong who touched the industry since 1987, then been passed onto take over the career to continue “Lou Wong” explosure in year 1996 at Simon 21st years old, the year when founder Lou Wong retired. And in year 2015 exposed into new outlet at Jalan Leceh, Ipoh Oldtown.
