The local originated Mr. Alex Leong Lup Yip who born in year 1986 was the founder, recently bodied-up with younger brother Justin Leong Lup Foo (born 1988) and friend Mr. Stephen Liew Chee Wai (born 1982) are the owners of the local famous “Li Yuan Dim Sum Restaurant” at Medan Ipoh Bistari, Ipoh serving their very authentic chinese dim sum and noodles selection to the visitors. Having great response from the market, and being recognised as one of the best eating house in year 2015.
Alex Leong who at his age of 29 years old currently, initially stepped into the f&b industry and touched chinese dim sum career since his age of 16 years old in 2002 at Ipoh been recruited into the “Hill City Restaurant” began as kitchen trainee before reached Selangor joined the “Kam Hin Dim Sum” in Puchong, Selangor at his 17 of age in year 2003.
In order to sharpen and experience more in his profession, Alex Leong later on in year 2005 joined the “Tung Lok Dim Sum Restaurant”(pronouns) at Singapore to further his explosure in the industry. Then being positioned as the Dim Sum Chef Executive in Park Royal Hotel, Singapore. In total spent his 5 years expose in Singapore, returned to hometown Ipoh, Perak in year 2010.
With the mission to have his very owned dim sum eating house and with the experiences hold by Alex Leong enabled him to established his very 1st restaurant in Greentown, Ipoh named “Qi Yuan Restaurant” in year 2010 serving dim sum, chinese dumpling and homemade Guangdong & Sichuan noodles. While in year 2012 successfully established the “Li Yuan Dim Sum Restaurant” along Jalan Medan Ipoh introducing combination of North & South Chinese Dim Sum and homemade noodles to the locals, with assistance by his Chef Ah Seng and Manager Drumond Chow leading the eating house.
In this dim sum specialize concept restaurant, the founder’s top recommended in menus will be their home made “Liu Sa Pao” which prepared from their handmade flur into pandan flavour, then served after steamed insided with their recipe mixture of salted egg yolk, butter and fresh milk brings very exotic taste and smooth in bites you must try when reached Perak.
Secondly will be their Steamed Bacon Rolls with Blackpepper Sauce, also the signature selection in the restaurant. Pan fried bacon rolled tops on their minced pork meat, then served after few minutes steamed with their in-house recipe blackpepper sauce poured onto brings the best eatery in town. Also their Steamed Fish Slice Dumpling with Nyonya Sauce, will be the combination of local & chinese cuisine recipe. Using fresh fish slice rolled with pork minced, steamed on home recipe nyonya sour & spicy sauce you never regret after tasted.
Moreover, Alex also introduced their signature Minced Meat Dumpling with Hot & Spicy Stock, is the combination of Beijing and Sichuan eatery recipe. Mixture of veges and minced meat wrapped then prepared with their 7 ingredients mixture sauce stock brings unbelievable eatery, most wanted by the visitors. And cannot aside their Chilli Oil Meat Dumpling, also one of the top seller in the restaurant.
While in noodles section, their Sichuan recipe Sour & Spicy Ramen will be among the recommended. Using handmade noodle cooked and served in their 12 hours boiled soup base topped with pork minced, peanuts shredded and ginger paste brings exotic and spicy taste. Nonetheless, the Dried Noodle with ‘Bei Jing’ is prepared with mixture of sesame sauce, peanut paste and ginger paste, then topped with pork minced brings smooth spicy taste and their homemade noodles texture itself when bites you cannot missed when stepped into the “Li Yuan Dim Sum Restaurant” in Ipoh, Perak.
