The local originated Mr. Alan Wong Choong Kin who born in year 1964, was the founder and the recent owner of the well known “Sin Fonzie Coffee Shop” introducing his home recipe handmade prawn noodles, seafoods noodles and noodle porridge to the public along Jalan Sultan Abdul Jalil, Ipoh for more than 15 years, being assisted by wife since year 1999.
Alan Wong who at his age of 51 years old currently, initially stepped into the food and beverage industry since year 1982 at his 18 of age been recruited into the local famous “Restaurant Overseas” began as kitchen trainee in Ipoh, Perak. Then been promoted as Chef in the chinese cuisine field, spent his 13 years experienced there, later on joined another restaurant “Ping Xiang Lou”(pronouns) in year 1995 as Chef stayed about 4 years there to sharpen his profession in the career, and where Alan Wong met his wife.
Subsequent to the opportunity given and wishing to expose futher in the industry. In year 1999 Alan Wong together with his wife successfully established their very first and owned restaurant named “Sin Fonzie Coffee Shop” in Ipoh Newtown, Perak starting as chicken rice shop. Recently is a seafood noodles and porridge specialize restaurant serving all their Chef’s home recipe and selections to the visitors, being one of the best eating house in town.
In Sin Fonzie, the founder cum main Chef Alan’s top recommended in menus will be their Claypot Prawn & Soup with Handmade Noodles. Using in-house homemade egg noodles without preservatives and colouring will be the reason why being highly wanted by their regulars. Soup base boiled 6 hours with pork and chicken in home recipes, cooked in claypot insided with their homemade egg noodles, fresh local “pantai prawn” and selected pork slices, then served boiled in claypot topped with “pai ling gu” mushroom slice you must try when reached Perak. Especially the soup freshness brought by the fresh “pantai prawn” or known “Maha” prawn stocks, is one of the restaurant’s top seller.
Secondly will be their Claypot Seafood Short Rice Vermicelli with Vinegar, also their signature menu introduced by the noodle house’s owner. Rice made grassnoodles used, boiled in claypot with their in-house soup base mixed with fresh tomato, prawn, squid, fish slice, chicken slice and added poured into their pure sugar vinegar brings the exotic taste eatery you will never regret after taken. Noodle boiled in soup base becomes paste, then stir fried with imported YunNan “Matsutake” mushroom, egg shredded and pork slice, boiled 45 minutes then served boiled in claypot topped with crispy deep fried beancurd skin shredded brings the best authentic eatery cannot found in other restaurant, you cannot aside.
