In our nation Malaysia, one of the traditional famous eatery “Ji Di Noodles” from Guangdong, China been hundred years practised frequently by the Chinese religious everywhere in our country, untill recent still the favourites by the locals and visitors also well-known as “Pork Noodles” by the lates carried out on respective recipes.
In the north at Ipoh, Perak we found the Wong’s family who still serving their home recipe 2-generation traditional Ji Di Noodles at Taman Ipoh Selatan named “Cong Yin Pork Noodles” having great response from the public, and being recognised as one of the best eateries restaurant in year 2015 currently also having another outlet at Bandar Puchong Puteri, Selangor.
The local originated Mr. Wong Nyok Kong who born in year 1960, together with his lovely wife Ms. Khor Bee Chin (born 1967) were the founders and initially owners of the local famous “Cong Yin Pork Noodles” eating house introducing their home made pork noodles soup to the locals along Lebuh Raya Taman Ipoh, Perak into 18 years. Recently being carried by their sons Chris Wong Yee Pin (born 1985), Sam Wong Yee Sam (born 1988) and the youngest Wong Yee Tin (born 1994) as 2nd generation.
Wong Nyok Kong who at his age of 55 years old currently, formerly been experienced as kitchen assistant in sister’s restaurant initially touched the pork noodles career with wife Bee Chin in year 1986 running their mobile food stall in Ipoh but ended after months, then quit the f&b industry.
While in year 1997, Nyok Kong re-stepped into the pork noodles industry also with wife running their noodle stall named “Cong Yin” in a coffee shop at Taman Ipoh where he again began his explosure introducing his home recipe to the locals running about 7 years, then in year 2004 subsequent to the great supports from public enabled the couple successfully established their very first Ji Di Noodles specialized shop “Cong Yin Pork Noodles” restaurant in Taman Ipoh Selatan, Perak continue his expose untill recent. Being assisted by wife Bee Chin, eldest son Chris and 2nd son Sam, also stepped into Puchong, Selangor a year ago.
In this noodle house, for sure the owner’s top recommended eatery in the restaurant will be their authentic Pork Noodles Soup or traditionally known “Ji Di Noodles”. Soup base boiled 12 hours with pork bones and their home recipe, kept overnight then served cooked with marinated pork minced, fresh pork slice, bamboo mushroom, pork liver and yam shredded jelly brings very exotic taste you must try when reached Ipoh, Perak. On demand by the customers, abalone to be added as additional option on request you cannot aside. One of the best eatery found in the town.
Secondly will be their Pepper Pork Stomach Soup, which also the most wanted by their regulars but not serves daily. Soup base boiled at least 5 hours with matured chicken, spare ribs and pepper seeds, then served cooked with pork intestine and pork stomach will brings pepper spicy and smooth swallowed eatery you will never regret after consumed. Also can be served insided with noodles option, among the restaurant’s signature menu.
As side order dish, you may also taste their giant size Deep Fried Dumpling which prepared and wrapped handmade by owner Mrs. Wong (Khor Bee Chin). Fresh local pork minced marinated with their in-house spices, mixed with black fungus shredded, veges shredded and water chesnut wrapped insided then served after deep fried brings the crispy in bites and the chewing tasty meats texture taken tipping onto the chilli sauce provided.
Nonetheless, you can also found the Chinese Steamed Meat Dumpling or known “Chung” in this noodle house which prepared on their home recipe in 2 options homemade either wrapped with white glutinous rice or fried glutinous rice with soy sauce wrapped insided with pork belly, salted egg yolk, dried shrimp and mushroom slice you cannot missed when stepped into the “Cong Yin Pork Noodles” at Ipoh, Perak.
