The local originated Mr. Lee Tek Kun who born in year 1947, was the founder and together with lovely wife Madam Ho Lee Min (born 1957) are the recent owners of the local well known “Restoran Kwee Hoe” seafood & chinese cuisine eating house introducing their home recipes to the locals and visitors under a roof at Lawan Kuda, Perak since year 1991, into 24 years.
Lee Tek Kun or commonly known as “Lee Kam” who at his age of 68 years old currently, initially touched the f&b industry since kids helping father in their family coffee shop “Kwee Hoe Kopitiam” in Lawan Kuda as “kopikia”. Later at his age of 18 years old been passed onto generation to take over the coffee shop, running for another 20 years untill his age of 38.
While in year 1985, Lee Kam grapped an opportunity to really stepped into the food chefing career when reached Australia joined his friend’s chinese cuisine restaurant, began as kitchen trainee where he started to experience the cooking career. Spent 6 years exposed and sharpen his profession there, finally returned to hometown and successfully established his very 1st and owned chinese seafood restaurant named “Restoran Kwee Hoe” in year 1991, being assisted by wife Lee Min presenting their home recipe selections to the public carried 24 years and being recognised as one of the best restaurant in town year 2015.
In Kwee Hoe, the founder Lee Kam’s first top recommended in menus will be their Mustard Vege Fish which on his own recipe. Commonly fresh local “Talapia” fish selected, prepared in about 5 minutes slow boiled, then served topped with their homemade sauce mixtures with China imported mustard veges shredded, chillies, dried shirmp and 5 recipe ingredients brings very authentic eatery you must try when reached Lawan Kuda, Perak. Especially the fish freshness and meats texture itself when swallowed into mouth.
Secondly will be their Stir Fried Spices Intestine, which is one of their restaurant’s top seller recently. Fresh local pork intestines being cleaned and boiled, prepared in cutted pieces then stir fried with Lee Kam’s home recipe sauce made from 5 ingredients mixture added with chillies, garlic, curry leaves and dried shrimp brings unbelievable exotic taste you never regret after consumed.
Another will be their signature Sichuan’s traditional eatery, the Fried Eggplant with Fish Paste Sauce or locally known “Yu Hiong” sauce. Pork belly and yam slice prepared in deep fried, marinated in bowl with their recipes made mixed from 5 spices flur, soy bean sauce, rotten beancurd and poured into slight rice wine then served after an hour steamed brings delicious sweet & salty taste you need to taste.
Nonetheless, Lee Kam also introduced their Signature Batong Cuttlefish, which also among the recommended most wanted by visitors recently.
