Since thousand years ago, the eateries “Dim Sum” being favourites by Chinese Religious around the world.  And “Hong Kong Dim Sum” will be the most practised in Asian included our nation Malaysia decade ago.  Here in Kampar, Perak we found to recognised one of the best hong kong dim sum specialized restaurant “Gong Hin” running into 10 years by Chaw brothers and Lee.

The Hilir Perak originated Mr. Lee Teng Diang who born in year 1978, together with the Kampar brothers Mr. Chaw Foo Yoong (born 1978) and Mr. Chaw Foo Wai (born 1981) were the founders and immediate owners of the local famous “Restoran Gong Hin” hong kong dim sum at Taman Bandar Baru Kampar, being assisted by Foo Wai’s wife Chai Yoke Yin.

Lee Teng Diang who at his age of 37 years old recently, initially stepped into the f&b industry since year 1997 at his 18 of age been recruited into the “Kam Lun Tai Restaurant”(pronouns) in Kuala Lumpur began as dim sum trainee, where he touched the dim sum career.  Later on reached Singapore to further his explosure in the industry for another few years before bodied-up with the Chaw brothers in Kampar.

Chaw Foo Wai who stepped into the industry since year 2000 at his 19 of age in Kuala Lumpur began as kitchen trainee, also been reached Singapore from his age of 20 years old to further his explosure before running his 1st dim sum restaurant with elder brother Foo Yoong.  While Chaw Foo Yoong who at 37 years old currently, formerly was in Construction Industry stepped into f&b career in year 2004, with younger brother Chaw Foo Wai running their dim sum restaurant “Moon Fook Dim Sum” at Kuala Lumpur.  But subsequent to the market deflation, the brothers ended the restaurant after a year.

In year 2005, the brothers Foo Yoong and Foo Wai bodied-up with Lee successfully established their very owned hong kong dim sum specialized restaurant along Jalan Hala Timah 1, Kampar officially named “Restoran Gong Hin” introducing all their home recipe selections to the locals and visitors.  Being recognised as one of the best eateries in town after 10 years explosure in 2015.

Among their various fine dim sum menus, the founders top recommended selection will be their Steamed Pork Dumpling or known “Xiao Lung Pau”.  Mixtures of minced belly pork, onion, rice wine and 2 hours boiled soup base with chicken feets, wrapped in hand made tiny flur wrapper, then served after 6 minutes steamed brings the authentic eatery you must try.   Especially taken together with the sided black vinegar ginger shredded.

Secondly will be their Bacon Roll, which also among the top seller in the dim sum house.  Insided with mixtures of pork and prawn, rolled between bacon, poured onto their homemade Thai sauce made from 5 recipes then served after 5 minutes steamed brings exotic sweet and slight spicy taste you cannot aside, and also the bites texture into mouth.

Another will be their regulars most wanted Fried Radish Cake with egg, garlic, onion leaves shredded, and their home prepared sambal paste made from more than 10 ingredients will be the best in town.  And also the Prawn Dumpling prepared in 3.5 minutes steamed insided with fresh home recipe marinated prawn.

The owners also introduced their signature Deep Fried Prawn & Fish Roll, or locally known “Dragon Mustache Roll” which made from mixtures of prawn, fish, onions leaves and chillies.  Then served deep fried rolled with rice noodles you never regret after consumed.  And the Sweet & Sour Sea Jelly prepared with 4 recipes mixtures sauce brings slight spicy, served topped with sesame will be one of the visitor’s favourites.

Nonetheless, you must not missed a bowl of their Sharkfin Dumpling Soup only in “Gong Hin” when stepped into this restaurant.  Prepared with scallop, prawn, bamboo mushroom, crabstick, golden stick mushroom, pork, dried mushroom then served topped with sharkfins cooked in their 5 hours boiled in-house soup base will be the best eatery ever tasted in Kampar, Perak.
