The Kuantan, Pahang originated Mr. Desmond Kong who at his age of 39 years old was the founder of the well known recognised restaurant “Sweet Land Beverage”, together with Ms. Ong Peck Hung (born 1979 in Kelantan) are the joined-owners serving their signature eateries selections to the public in 2 outlets at Kuantan, Pahang and Sungai Petani, Kedah.
Desmond Kong who born in year 1976, who is a Trader, initially having interest in eatery and forseseen the market potential in f&b industry stepped into the career since year 2013 in Kuantan, Pahang running the “Porridge King” restaurant, where Peck Hung been given opportunity to touch the career to in-charge of the retail for about a year.
From there, Peck Hung fully stepped into the industry then under the courage by Desmond, they successfully took over the “Restoran Er You” in Sungai Petani, Kedah which on-going serving the snakehead fish, frog and eel eateries. In order to go further and to sharpen her profession in the career, Peck Hung learnt the recipes from Mr. Chua, who formerly is the restaurant’s chef, been generation passed onto recipes originated from Master Tai initially, continue operating the restaurant in manner.
While in year 2014, both outlets in Kuantan and Sungai Petani been officially registered as “Sweet Land Beverage”. Emphasising their signature “3 Treasure” eateries on centrallized recipes.
In Sweet Land Beverage, the first top recommended in menus surely will be their local fresh Snakehead Fish which served in 4 options recipes. Among the top seller will be their Steamed Kirin Snakehead Fish prepared boneless, steamed few minutes then served poured onto home sauce made from 5 ingredients mixture and topped with ginger and veges shredded. Besides, snakehead fish served in Herbal Steamed, Ginger Stir and Dried Chilli Fried are also the most wanted you must try.
Secondly will be their Frog or Eel series, which served in 3 options recipes. Local fresh frog/eel fried with dried chillies, chilli padi, onions and mixed into their 4 spices home sauce will brings exotic and spicy taste you cannot aside. For those who cannot take spicy can try their frog/eel fried with ginger and onions. Another signature introduced is the Herbal Steamed, which prepared with home sauce from 2 chinese herbals mixture then served topped with ginger shredded brings sweet and freshness taste you never regret after tasted in the restaurant.
Other than the 3 treasure, they also introduced their Boiled Chicken which is one of the regulars favourite. Local chicken boiled an hour, served cutted into pieces then poured onto their in-house soy sauce made from 8 ingredients brings salty and sweet taste, will be one of the best in town.
Nonetheless, their Plain Porridge or famously named “Monk Porridge” is the main course you should taste neither. Porridge cooked an hour from 2 rice mixtures, then served in claypot mixed with sweet veges and sesame oil will be the perfect match taken with either of their above recommended dishes in the restaurant you cannot missed when stepped into the “Sweet Land Beverage”.
