HAKKA TRADITIONAL “YONG TAU FOO”

“Yong Tau Foo” is one of the famous Hakka’s traditional food which from generation to generation with the combination of vege and pork minced inside.  But in the 21st century, in order to make the Hakka food more healthy and Halal to meet the local demand, Mr. Ricky Chen Hoi Khong (Husband) and Ms. Jess Kok Sau Ying (Wife) are the founder and owner of the “Restaurant Yong Tau Foo Khong Kee” established their Halal hakka yong tau foo with the combination of ‘fish’ minced inside to replace pork located at Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya since the year 1992.

 

Mr. Ricky who sacrisfied his teenage life and help at his mother’s food stall at Jalan Chan Sau Lin in the year of 1973 during his age of 16 years old for about 6 years time.  In the year 1980, he successfully operates a canteen business in a college at Jalan 223 with the assist by mother to starte his very 1st Food & Beverage stall.  From there, Ricky found his great interest in cooking and learnt the Hakka famous traditional Yong Tau Foo recipe from his mother.  Fortunately, he esatblished his own road side ‘Khong Kee Yong Tau Foo’ stall together with his wife Ms. Jess at Jalan 20/16 Taman Paramount in the year 1992.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He used his mother very own home recipe and to replaced pork by 100% fully ‘Kao Fish’ minced to produce more healthy and presentable yong tau foo.  Afterwards he further explored his career into a shoplot recently known Restaurant Yong Tau Foo Khong Kee.  Besides his Hakka yong tau foo, their very own eight ingredients porridge which famous known as ’8 Bao Porridge’ boiled with groundnut, dry cuttlefish, small oyster, dry shrimps, green vege, mushroom, century egg mixed with their own recipe soup base also the most recommended in the restaurant which is the best combination with their 14 choices of boiled or fried Yong Tau Foo.
