THE 2 GENERATION CHINESE CUISINE RESTAURANT CARRIED BY LEE’s FAMILY INTRODUCING THEIR HOME SIGNATURE EATERIES
Commonly found everywhere the chinese cuisine restaurants in our nation Malaysia presenting all their menus on respective recipes. Here in Alor Setar, Kedah having an authentic chinese cuisine restaurant which running into 2nd generation famously known “Xing Foo Lou” being recognised as one of the best eating place in year 2015.
The local originated Mr. Lee Kwok Heng who born in year 1984, the 2nd generation, is the recent owner of the local well known recommended “Xing Foo Lou” chinese cuisine restaurant operating the 2 outlets at Taman Anggerik and Mergong, Alor Setar being assisted by his 2 sisters Ms. Lee Yee Ting (born 1981) and Ms. Lee Chew Ting (born 1990).
The 1st generation, late Mr. Lee Kee Chon (1955-2009) who was the founder of “Xing Foo Lou” formerly was in Property Development Industry, initially stepped into the f&b career since his age of 46 years old. With the great interest in eatery and foreseen the market opportunity in the industry allowed Mr. Lee to establish his very first restaurant in Taman Anggerik in year 2001 named “Xing Foo Lou” serving chinese cuisines to the locals and visitors in manner.
While in year 2009, the 2nd generation Lee Kwok Heng been given responsibility to continue their family career and officially took over the restaurant at his 25 of age. Also his elder sister Lee Yee Ting began stepped into the industry assisting Kwok Heng. Youngest sister Chew Ting who since year 2008 at her age of 18 years old been helping father in the restaurant.
Subsequent to the great response from the public, the brother & sisters successfully establised their 2nd outlet at Taman Bandar Baru Mergong, Alor Setar in 2015 to further expose in the industry. They also owned and running the “Persatuan Leong Say Tong” at Bakar Bata mainly serving on catering and functional occasions which occupied up to 100 tables which establised since 2007.
In Xing Foo Lou, the owner top recommended in menus will be their Rainbow Roasted Duck. Local feeded duck selected, roast nearly an hour then served in fine cutted pieces on homemade veges mixtures or locally known “acar acar”, taken tipping onto their home recipe sweet sauce you must try when reached Alor Setar. Especially the crispy authentic duck skin and the meats texture itself in bites.
Secondly will be their Deep Fried Vege Dumpling, which also one of their top seller in the restaurant. Mixtures of veges and pork meats hand wrapped, then deep fried and served sided with their home recipe chilli sauce you cannot aside. Also their 5 Spices Pork Trotter, which stewed 90 minutes with in-house secret recipe ingredients will be one of the best eatery in town.
In fish corner, the chef’s recommended will be their Dual Taste White Pomfret which is the restaurant’s signature. Fresh sea white pomfret fish selected, prepared in boneless fish fillets stir fried in home sauce and another served in fish rolls insided with pork you will never regret after tasted. Neither frequently found in other chinese cuisine restaurants in the town.
Another will be their Golden Chicken, which among the regulars most wanted in Xing Foo Lou. Local village feeded chicken to be selected, boiled cooked in soup base then served after seconds oil-passed & poured onto their homemade salted sauce brings exotic salty taste favourite by most of the visitors.
Nonetheless, the owner too introduced one of their specialty Stewed Mutton which prepared after 2 hours stewed with more than 10 spices ingredient mixture, then served boiled in claypot brings excellent taste and mutton meats texture you cannot missed when stepped into the “Xing Foo Lou” chinese restaurant in Alor Setar, Kedah.
