In East Coast, there are also much enough chinese cuisine restaurants running throughout the town and urban area practised on respective home recipes having great response from outsiders.  But here in Kuantan, Pahang we recognised one of the local famaus “Sun Fong Restaurant” carried by Chef Neo who with his more than 25 years experience in the field presenting much as at least 50 of his signature dishes to the public.

The Negeri Sembilan originated Mr. Neo Say Cheong who born in year 1973, was the initial founder and the recent owner of the well known recognised “Sun Fong Restaurant” chinese cuisine restaurant running along Jalan Telok Sisek, Kuantan serving their authentic eateries selection to the locals and visitors since year 2012.

Neo Say Cheong or known Chef Neo who at his age of 42 years old currently, initially stepped into the f&b industry since year 1988 at his age of 15 began as kitchen trainee in the “Pataya Restaurant” in Kuantan where he touched the career stayed more than 2 years there.  Then been travelled and reached places such as Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Indonesia etc to further sharpen and strengthen his profession in the career.  He being positioned as Chef Neo in year 2000 in Singapore at his 27th.

With the experiences hold and wishing to have his own restaurant explosure, allowed Chef Neo to return the place where he stepped the industry and successfully established his very 1st and owned chinese cuisine restaurant named “Sun Fong Restaurant” in year 2012 firstly at Star City, Kuantan.  Later on in year 2014 exposed and moved to Jalan Telok Sisek, which is the recent location.

In Sun Fong, the founder’s top recommended signature in menus will be his creation Signature Beancurd or locally known “Sun Fong Taufu”.  Homemade beancurd prepared from mixture of fresh soy milk, egg, squid paste and fish, followed by deep fried with flour, then served topped with their home recipe thai sauce and mayonnaise placed on veges brings combination of Thai & Western eatery you must have a try when reached Kuantan, Pahang.

Secondly will be their top seller in the restaurant most wanted by regulars, the Fish Bun or locally known “Ho Yip Pao”.  Fish fillet selected, deep fried with recipe flour, then stir fried seconds with Chef Neo’s more than 10 ingredients home sauce and served in chinese made bun (pao).  Taking in bites such like having western ‘Burger’, only in Sun Fong to be the best in town.

Another will be their customer’s favourite in the eating house, Salted Egg Squid which crispy and exotic in bites.  Sea fresh squids selected, prepared in cutted pieces and deep fried with home recipe flour, then served seconds stir fried with salted egg yolk paste brings salted authentic eatery you cannot aside.

Nonetheless, the owner cum main chef, Chef Neo also introduced the Nyonya Steamed Fish which among the recommended.  Options of river fish or sea fish on client’s demand steamed cooked, then served poured onto their home recipe nyonya sauce made from more than 10 recipes mixture brings sweet, sour, salted & spicy taste you cannot missed when stepped into the “Sun Fong Restaurant” in Kuantan, Pahang.
