Liew Chee Seng who at his age of 48 years old currently, initially stepped into the f&b industry since his 20th reached Singapore joined a chinese restaurant in 1987 began as kitchen trainee. Later on recruited himself into the “Xiang Man Lou”(pronouns) chinese restaurant for another few years to further his experience in the career being positioned as chef. And stayed more than 5 years exposure in Singapore before returned to home country Malaysia. Then reached Cameron Highland started his very first “Oldies & Godies Roasted Restaurant” in year 2004.
While Hou Youn Keat who at his 34th recently, stepped into the industry since year 1999 at his 18 years old joined the “Zico Ho” Japanese restaurant at Damansara, Kuala Lumpur spent 5 years in the career. Then reached England to strengthen his profession began to touched chinese cuisine field for another 4 years before returned to Cameron Highland in year 2008.
Subsequent to the experiences hold by both Chee Seng and Youn Keat, and with the vision to expose the industry throughout the highland, in year 2014 successfully established their “Highland Steamboat” specialized restaurant in Brinchang serving traditional charcoal steamboat to the locals and visitors in manner, being recognised as one of the best.
In this Oldies Steamboat house, the owners firstly will recommend their signature soup base selections such Pork Bones Soup, TomYam Soup, Herbals Soup and Pepper Pork Stomach Soup on customer’s request which served on free flow basis. Soup base boiled hours on their homemade recipes heating with charcoal on eating table really brings the authentic eatery you must have a try when reached especially this cooling highland in Pahang. Also to be the favourite local’s delicacy eatery choice for years.
Besides those recommended, they also coming with some newly introduced prepared soup base which most wanted by the regulars like the Salted Vege Fish Soup and Seafoods Soup which among the best option taken with boiling selections sided in the restaurant such as homemade meat ball, black pepper meat ball, fish ball, prawn, grouper fish fillet, beancurd sheet, clams, belly pork slices, jelly fish, seafood beancurd etc all are the among favourites by the visitors.
