FIND THE MORE THAN 30 YEARS YUEN’s FAMILY CHARCOAL ROASTED MIX RECIPES IN “AH FOONG” RESTAURANT

For chinese religious, one of the authentic eatery “Roasted Mix” which practised since decades ago favourites also by others still recently easily found everywhere on respective recipes in our nation Malaysia.  Here in the middle part, we found and being recognised one of the best “Ah Foong” roasted mix eating house in Negeri Sembilan carried by the Yuen family into 2nd generation still roast with charcoal today.

The local Seremban originated Mr. Yuen Kwai Weng who born in year 1954, was the founder and together with his lovely wife Madam Liew Ah Foong (born 1964) both are the immediate owners of the well known “Restoran Ah Foong” roasted house in Seremban serving their more than 30 years home recipe to the public.  Recently being assisted by sons and daughter Yuen Hong Fai (born 1991), Yuen Shin Yi (born 1992) and Yuen Hong Kheong (born 1994).

Yuen Kwai Weng who at his age of 61 years old currently, was formerly in Agriculture Industry all the while having interest in eatery and foreseen the market opportunity in the career initially at his age of 24 stepped into the f&b industry reached Kuala Lumpur recruited himself into cousin’s restaurant at Petaling Street began as trainee where he experienced his roasted career spent 5 years there.  Then in year 1983 running his very owned roadside food stall at Sungai Besi named “Onn Kee Roasted”, ended 1988.

Later in year 1988, Kwai Weng further exposed and established his seafood restaurant “Hing Loong”(pronouns) at Kepong, Kuala Lumpur for another 10 years but unfortunately due to circumstances discontinued in year 1998 before returned to hometown Negeri Sembilan again running a roadside stall in Rantau selling roasted duck, where his wife Ah Foong (who formerly in Advertising Industry) stepped into the career helping husband, recently still running by their son Hong Kheong who stepped into the career since his 18th.

With the great response from market and wishing to further their family career exposure allowed Kwai Weng and wife Ah Foong established their very 1st and owned roasted house at Taman Seremban Jaya in year 2013 officially named “Restoran Ah Foong” running by 2 generation with eldest son Hong Fai and eldest daughter Shin Yi.

In Ah Foong roasted house, the founder’s firstly introduced his 37 years recipe Roasted Duck which prepared traditionally with charcoal.  Local feeded duck with weight of about 2.9kg selected, marinated overnight with 4 ingredients with herbals after cleaned & dried-up then roast for about 45-50 minutes will brings fantastic meats texture in bites and exotic taste into mouth.  Taken tipping onto their homemade sweet sauce from 5 ingredients mixture you must try when reached Seremban.

Secondly will be their signature Roasted Pork Belly, which also among the regular’s most wanted.  Local fresh belly pork selected, marinated overnight with 5 spices then roast on charcoal for nearly an hour really brings juicy meats texture when bites and especially the crispy skin layer you will never regret after taken.  Neither found elsewhere other then here in Ah Foong roasted house by Yuen.

Another will be one of the restaurant’s top seller, the sweet Roasted Pork or locally known as “Char Siew”.  Selected pork portion will be used also marinated overnight with sugar, salt and soy sauce, then charcoal roast for half an hour will brings authentic sweet and texturing bites roasted pork or “char siew” you cannot aside.  Taken with the original sauce obtained from the roasting process will be the best eatery in town.

For sure, Roasted Chicken will not be left out in Ah Foong restaurant which strongly introduced by the owners.  Chicken with net weight of 2.3kg will be selected prepared with 5 spices marinated also overnight, then deep fried 20 minutes to maintain the juicy meats texture and served poured onto their homemade 6 ingredients mixture sauce brings exotic salty & sweet taste you cannot missed when stepped into the “Restoran Ah Foong” roasted house at Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
