THE RECOGNISED MORE THAN 20 YEARS GUANGDONG CANTONESE “K.L YONG TOU FU” CARRIED BY THE WAN FAMILY
Been decades, one of the authentic traditional eatery taken and favourites by the Cantonese religious originated from Guangdong, China the “Cantonese Yong Tou Fu” still practice by the generation today in Malaysia. Here in Negeri Sembilan, we found and being recognised one of the best “K.L Yong Tou Fu” eating house running by Wan family since 1992 presenting their home recipe to the public in manner.
The local originated Mr. Wan Peng Chow who born in year 1958, together with wife Madam Liew Ching Tai (born 1960) both were the initial founders and the recent immediate owners of the famous “K.L Yong Tou Fu” restaurant serving their homemade fish paste insided yong tou fu to the locals and visitors for more than 20 years in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. Recently being assisted by their sons and daughters Wan Siew Wah (born 1980), Wan Siew Hoong (born 1982), Wan Siew Kee (born 1983), Wan Lai Kuan (born 1989) and Wan Siew Cheong (born 1993) whose are their next generation.
Mr. Wan Peng Chow who at his age of 57 years old currently, was formerly in Food Ingredients Supplies all the while having mission to expose further in the industry, added with his wife Ching Tai’s interest in eatery & chefing initially stepped into the f&b career since year 1992 after been generation passed onto their family recipe from his uncle in Kuala Lumpur enabled this couple to begin their very first food stall along Jalan Templer, Seremban named “K.L Yong Tou Fu”. Later on moved into “OK Tuck Foodcourt” fixed their food stall for another few years continued their exposure in the career.
On circumstances, and with the great response from market on their generation family homemade eateries allowed Peng Chow successfully in year 2014 exposed into his very 1st yong tou fu specialized restaurant at Oakland Commerce Square, Seremban towards succeed and officially registered “K.L Yong Tou Fu”, which is the recent location.
In this restaurant, the founders top first recommended in menus surely will be their Guangdong Yong Tou Fu which fully homemade in home recipes. Local fresh “Kao” fish selected, prepared daily mixed with pork into in-house recipe will be their secret yong tou fu insided paste with no preservative ready in choices of eggplant, bittergourd, lady finger, dried beancurd and top seller Dumpling etc served either in boiled or deep fried you must try when reached Seremban.
Secondly among their Yong Tou Fu options, the owners also introduced their Signature Beancurd Sheet which served in deep fried made insided with the mixtures of fish and cuttlefish which you cannot aside. Also one of their regulars most wanted, the Deep Fried Fish Rolls which prepared insided with mixtures added into sengkuang cubes brings fantastic chewing in bites.
Another will be their home cooked Curry Laksa, which favourites by visitors. Curry paste prepared in-house with 3 recipes mixture, boil-cooked with their 4 hours boiled soup base into ikan bilis then served topped with chicken egg, beancurd sheet, fresh crockles, dried beancurd and beansprouts will be a complete bowl of chinese traditional curry laksa you never regret after taste. Especially the laksa soup taste itself when swallowed into mouth.
Moreover, one of the restaurant’s signature among recommended will be their Dry Rice Noodles or locally known “Lou Si Fun”. Selected rice noodles prepared mixed with their home soy sauce mixtures of 6 ingredients, then served topped with home fried recipe pork minced and taken with their in-house chilli sauce brings exotic spicy taste eatery neither found elsewhere, only in “K.L Yong Tou Fu”.
Nonetheless, the founder Peng Chow also introduced their delicious Chee Cheong Fun, which is one of the chinese authentic traditional eatery practised since decades ago. Their chee cheong fun served mixed with either home sweet sauce or curry sauce, and topped with sesame seeds & marinated long beans shredded you cannot missed when stepped into the “K.L Yong Tou Fu” at Oakland Commerce Square Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
