MUST TRY THE TAWAU’s FISH HEAD NOODLES & SEAFOOD EATERIES IN “JONG FA PAI” @ EAST MALAYSIA

Surely been years known by the Malaysians and by most of the visitors, “Fish Head Noodles” is one of the famous and Sabah’s local delicacy eatery favourites by the public.  Also nowadays being made available everywhere in the nation.  Here in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah we found and being recognised one of the best fish head & seafood noodles specilist “Jong Fa Pai” by the Chong family running since year 2008.

The local Sabahan Mr. Chong Yuk Pui who born in year 1959 originated from Tawau, together with his wife Madam Tan Kui Hong (born 1963) both are the immediate owners of the recommended “Jong Fa Pai Kopitiam” noodle houses in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah began from a food stall exposed into recently 3 restaurants.  Also being assisted by their eldest son Chong Ee (born 1994) and daughter Chong Shyuan (born 1995) serving their family’s home recipe fish head noodles to the market in manner.

Chong Yuk Pui who at his age of 57 years old currently, was all the while in the f&b industry stepped into since 1995 in hometown Tawau, Sabah began his economy noodles food stall with wife for about 10 years then moved into shoplot in year 2005 named “Jong Fa Pai” with additional of his 2nd brother Ah Choon’s (Chong Yuk Seng) recipes, where the signature menu came into “Jong Fa Pai”.

While in year 2008, foreseen the market opportunity and wishing to expose further allowed Yuk Pui and family reached Kota Kinabalu running their fish head noodles stall at Kelombong having great response from the locals enabled him to re-established the “Jong Fa Pai Kopitiam” after 5 years in 2013 at Pavilion Bundusan.  Later on the 2nd at Kepayan and followed by the 3rd (main recently) in year 2015 at Hilltop, Kota Kinabalu not only introducing their famous Tawau’s fresh fish head noodles, but also the owner’s home made seafoods eateries under a roof.

In Jong Fa Pai, the owner’s first top recommended in menus surely will be their Signature Fish Head Noodles which commonly served with rice noodles (mee hun) most wanted by the customers.  Local fresh deep-sea red fish head prepared in cutted pieces (fresh or deep fried) served boiled and topped onto mee hun in their 8 hours home cooked soup base with fish bones and tomatoes, then served poured into slight fresh milk brings the excellent fish freshness taste you must try when reached Sabah.

Secondly will be their Fish Slice Noodles Soup, which also the restaurant’s daily top seller you cannot aside.  Fresh red fish or grouper fish slices selected, prepared in fresh or deep fried on customer’s request, served topped onto rice noodles also in their in-house tomatoes soup base into fresh milk brings another perfect matching eatery you will never regret after tasted.

Another will be their Prawn Dumpling with Chives Leaf, will be the recommended top side order in “Jong Fa Pai Kopitiam”.  Mixtures of fresh local sea prawn and chives leaf shredded, prepared in flour-wrapped, then served in deep fried taken tipping onto the sweet & sour Thai sauce sided brings exotic eatery and chewing bites textures into mouth neither found better in town.

Nonetheless, the owner Yuk Pui also taken the opportunity to introduce his own recipe’s Homemade Prawn Ball which being the must eat menu in the noodle house.  This 100% sea prawn ball handmade from fresh sea prawn minced meat, served in deep fried brings unbelievable bites texture available only in “Jong Fa Pai Kopitiam” you cannot missed when stepped into either of their branches in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
