“Seafoods”, been famously known by not only the east nation locals but also the most wanted by those who reached Sabah, Malaysia nowadays.  Also been years recommended as the state’s delicacy must eat selection for tourists from around the world.  We hereby found and being recognised one of the best newly air-conditioned premium seafoods restaurant “Sky” in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah since year 2016.

The Perak originated Mr. Yip Kok Chung who born in Ipoh year 1972, was the founder and together with wife who is Sabahan both are the immediate owners of the recognised “Sky Seafood Restaurant” in Penampang, Sabah.  Being assisted by their more than 30 years experiences Chinese & Seafood cuisines Chef Chong (Chong Su Po), who born in Sandakan, introducing their premium seafoods menu to the visitors under a roof.

Yip Kok Chung, who at his age of 44 years old recently, all the while in f&b industry initially reached the State of Sabah in year 1985 at his 13th following family, stepped into the f&b career from 16 years old helping parents in the family’s chinese restaurant at Sabah.  Began from his 18th, Kok Chung touched the Roasted Mix learnt from his master from Hong Kong then started his exposure in year 1990 supplying roasted mix finished products locally, still ongoing recently.

In order to expose further, and having great response from the market allowed Kok Chung established his “Yip Kee” roasted mix supply & retail since early 21st century at Luyang, then into another outlet locally in Kota Kinabalu running to today.  Also being one of the best roasted mix specialist favourites by the Sabahans and visitors currently.  While in year 2016, Kok Chung bodied-up with Chef Chong (Chong Su Po), who is the restaurant main chef, began their premium seafood selections in “Sky Seafood Restaurant” at Pavilion Bundusan, Kota Kinabalu.

In this “Sky Seafood”, the Chef’s first top recommended in menus will be their Signature Seafood Pumpkin Soup.  Premium sea minerals such fish maw, dried scallop, sea cucumber, dried oyster and abalone slice cooked with garden feeded chicken in their 6 hours boiled soup base from about 8 ingredients mixture, then served inside whole pumpkin brings really an exotic premium eatery by the restaurant you must try when reached Sabah.

Secondly will be their Coconut Prawn, which among the recommended selection favourites by their regulars.  Local live fresh prawn selected, cooked with their in-house homemade curry sauce mixed with coconut juice, then served placed inside coconut brings excellent sweet & spicy taste you cannot aside.  Similar like taking the “Indonesian Prawn Recipe” if you ever reached and taken in Indonesia, one of the famous dish in the country.

Another will be their Pineapple Chicken, which also one of the restaurant’s daily top seller by Chef Chong.  Local sweet pineapple abstracts selected, seconds fried with the chicken drumstick meat cubes after marinated & deep fried mixed into their chef’s recipe sauce, and finally served in whole pineapple you will never regret after tasted.  And neither found elsewhere other than in “Sky”.

Nonetheless, the owner cum founder Kok Chung also taken the opportunity to introduce their Signature Dry Butter Kailan, which most wanted by customers.  Fresh Kailan veges seconds fried with dry butter milk prepared in-house mixed into chilli padi and curry leaf brings sweet & salty taste you cannot missed when stepped into this “Sky Seafood Restaurant” at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
