It is famously known by the Malaysians local and tourists, “Jalan Alor” which been at least half decade carrying lots of local’s favourites delicacy eateries all along the street running in manner nowadays.  Here along Jalan Alor, we successfully found one of the best recommended and being the 1st recognised in the street “Meng Kee Grill Fish” since 1993 by Mui’s couple.

The Muar originated Mr. Mui Teh Min who born in year 1966, was the initial founder, and together with wife Ms. Hee Yieh Lin (born 1969 from Kajang) both are the immediate owners of the well known “Restoran Meng Kee Grill Fish” chinese & seafood cuisine restaurant along Jalan Alor, Kuala Lumpur presenting all the home recipes to the locals and visitors into nearly 25 years.

Mui Teh Min, also known “Ah Meng”, who at his age of 50 years old currently was formerly in Transportation Industry, innitially stepped into the f&b industry since year 1993 at his 28th of age began his grill fish food stall along Jalan Alor named “Meng Kee” serving his homemade grill fish selections, and being assisted by wife Yieh Lin.  After 10 years in 2002, the couple successfully exposed into shoplot registered as “Restoran Meng Kee Grill Fish” not only serving grill fish but lots of other local delicacies made available.

With the great response from market, mission to expose further in the career and foreseen the market opportunity in the industry.  Added with the assistance by Ah Meng’s brothers Mui Tick Wee (born 1971) and Mui Tick Keong (born 1978), with wife’s sister Hee Mui Lin (born 1967) and brother-in-law Robert Ng Yoon Lung (born 1976) allowed them to occupied up to 6 shoplots in year 2012.  Then being recognised as the 1st best restaurant along Jalan Alor in year 2006.

In this Meng Kee, the founder’s first top recommended in menus surely will be his own recipe Signature Meng Kee Grill Fish selection.  Commonly Sting-Ray fish to be favourites, marinated by their 6 ingredients mixture recipe, pan grilled for about 10 minutes bring really fantastic fish freshness and BBQ taste you must try when reached Jalan Alor, Kuala Lumpur.  Especially taken tipping onto their homemade chilli sauce with onions shredded provided.  For those who like spicy can ask for their homemade sambal paste sided or grilled with the fish itself.

Another will be their Black Pepper Fried Crab, which also one of the restaurant’s daily top seller.  Fresh live meat crab imported from Indonesia selected, boil-cooked then over seconds through boiling oil, followed by a minute stir-fried with their homemade black pepper paste made from Sarawak’s pepper seeds brings unbelievable spicy, salty and crab’s freshness taste you will never regret after tasted.

If talking about Squids, their Salted & Pepper Squid will be among recommended.  Local fresh squid prepared in fine round-ring cutted, deep fried with recipe flour, then seconds stir-fried with pepper and salt brings delicious and authentic salty & slight spicy taste favourites by the tourists.

Moreover, the Dry Chilli Fried Frog or known locally “Claypot Dried Chilli Frog” also one of the local’s must try eatery.  Fresh live frog prepared in cutted pieces, cooked with their in-house recipe paste made from 5 ingredients mixture, mixed into dried chillies & spring onions then served boiled in claypot brings salty, sweet and spicy taste you will like it.
