“Wrapped Chicken”, which is one of the Chinese’s traditional eatery served commonly cooked with chinese herbals practised since thousand years ago.  But being prepared in better manner recently, still among the favourites by Singapore locals.  Here in the lion city, we found and successfully recognised the best nearly 30 years history wrapped chicken specialist “Si Yang” carried by the Chwa family since 1990.

The permanent Singapore resident Mr. Chwa Kow Tee, who born year 1965 in Johore (Malaysia) was the founder, together with his wife Doris Phang Nyuk Moi (Singaporean) both are the immediate owners of the recommended “Si Yang Steam Soup” corner at Ang Mo Kio, Singapore introducing their signature traditional wrapped chicken and steamed soup selections to the market under a roof.

Mr. Chwa Kow Tee who at his age of 51 years old recently, reached Singapore and initially stepped into the f&b industry at his 19th of age in year 1984, where he touched the traditional steamed soup and wrapped chicken under-employed as helper in a steamed soup foodstall at Ang Mo Kio Central, Singapore.

In order to expose further in the industry, holding the traditional wrapped chicken recipe and foreseen the market demand & opportunity in the field, added with chances been given, allowed Kow Tee in year 1990 began his very owned wrapped herbal chicken and steamed soup corner named “Si Yang Steam Soup” running in a coffee shop at Ang Mo Kio Central.  Where started being assisted by wife Doris Phang, then fully stepped & joined into husband career in year 1992.  Later in year 2016, they moved to Block 450 (Ang Mo Kio Ave10) continue their exposure in the industry.

At “Si Yang Steam Soup”, the first top among menus to be recommended by the owners will be their Signature Wrapped Chicken.  Unmatured chicken with weight of about 1.2-1.3kg imported from Malaysia being selected, wrapped with baking papper insided mixed with 9 chinese herbals mixture, then served after at least 4 hours steamed brings exotic herbal taste and authentic natural chicken stock you must try when reached Singapore.  Especially the fantastic chicken meat’s texture in bites and the health advantage brings from this traditional eatery.

Secondly will be their home cooked Yam Rice, which also among their regular customer’s favourites taken with bowl of their steamed soup selection or wrapped herbal chicken.  Raw rice initially fried with mushroom shredded, garlic, dried shrimp and yam cubes then boiled for another 20 minutes cooked brings very tastable bowl of yam rice you will never found better elsewhere in the city.

Also in menus, the owners Chwa couple surely will introduced their best steamed soup selections such the Black Bean Pig’s Tail Soup which seldom found in town.  Imported black beans selected, mixed with fresh pig’s tail then steamed at least 3 hours before served brings exotic freshness & black bean taste you cannot aside.  As according to the founder Kow Tee, this soup is good for human being kidney’s health.

Another will be their Eucommia Bark Black Chicken Soup which only began to be served to market from here in block 450 on their home recipe.  Local feeded black skin chicken steamed 4 hours with eucommia bark and other 12 chinese herbals mixture brings very authentic soup taste you cannot missed when stepped forward to this “Si Yang Steam Soup” corner at Ang Mo Kio, Singapore.
