Ms. Ho Lee Ming (Lynda) is the owner of Seth Cafe. Partnered with Mr. Ho, they have been operating the restaurant since 2017 and it has received positive response for its delicious food and comfortable environment.
Ms. Lynda was born in 1965 at Mersing, Johor. She first stepped into the F&B industry when she was 29 years old, being one of the owners of bird nest retail shop. After ending her bird nest shop at 2006, she began working various jobs. It was until July 2017, when she decided to open Seth Cafe, hoping to let more people enjoy her food.
The first recommended food in Seth Cafe is its “Scallop Herbal Porridge”. The main ingredients include scallops, shredded chicken, salted egg, preserved egg, homemade fried onions and homemade porridge. The porridge itself requires 2 hours before it is ready to be served. Morever, it is also mixed with herbal powder (4 types of herbs) to enhance the flavour of the porridge. This big and full bowl of porridge topped with all the ingredients makes it the signature food in Seth Cafe.
The next recommended food is “Ba Zhen Herbal Soup”. This herbal soup consists of herbs such as osmanthus, red sage, eucommia, lycium and others. All the herbs are first cooked and simmered for two hours until you can smell the aroma of the herbs. The next step is to put the chicken and other ingredients into the soup and continue the process for another 2 hours until the chicken is cooked and all the flavour of the herbs is mixed into the chicken. This sweet and delicious herbal soup, tasted along with the soft and juicy chicken, is one of the most ordered soup in the cafe.
Besides that, the owner also recommended her “Secret Beauty Soup”. There are at least 6 ingredients used to prepare this soup. The owner mentioned the main ingredient has to be the Cordyceps. Ingredients such as red sage, lycium and cordyceps are first put together and cooked for two hours before the chicken is put into the soup. The cooking method of this soup is similar with Ba Zhen Herbal Soup, however the taste is different. Secret Beauty Soup has a deep and sweet flavour and the taste is more acceptable to the public.
The fourth recommended food is “Nasi Lemak Special”. This non-conventional Nasi Lemak does not contain coconut milk in the rice. This is due to the fact that the owner emphasizes on the importance of healthy food. However, for rice, it is mixed with spices, lemongrass, pandan leaves and herbs to enhance the flavour of the taste. The homemade sambal takes up to 6 hours to prepare. The indonesian rendang chicken, which is marinated with 7 ingredients, tastes delicious and sweet.
The fifth recommended food will be its “Lamb Shoulder”. The lamb shoulders are all imported from New Zealand and Australia. It is best eaten together with the mint sauce and these two have the perfect combination to make it taste better.
