Both Johoreans Mr. Nicky Tan Choon Aun (born 1981) and Mr. Alex Yeo Chin Yong (born 1980) were the founders and initial owners of the recommended “Restoran AhMaJia”, the asian’s cuisine restaurant serving all their signature home recipes selection to the locals since year 2017 along Jalan Mutiara Emas, Johor Bahru.
Nicky Tan who only with his age of 37 currently, initially stepped into the f&b industry began as a kitchen trainee at Perling, Johor Bahru introduced by brother-in-law in year 1996 at his 15 years old spent 6 years to position as a Chef. With great interest in eatery and forseeing the market opportunity in the industry made Nicky further exposed his career reached Dubai in year 2010 to sharpen his chefing experience stayed 7 years there.
While Alex Yeo who touched the f&b industry at his 18 of age, with 38 years old recently, initially joined the hotel line in Pulai also began as a kitchen trainee spent his 10 years to reach the Chef position. Later met Nicky as colleague in Pulai, also been together in Dubai strengthen his career allowed them (Nicky and Alex) to return and beeing established their very first own asian’s cuisine restaurant named “Restoran AhMaJia” in Johor introducing their 5-star menus to the public on affordable manner, having great response from the locals.
In Restoran AhMaJia, the both founder’s top recommended in menus will be their “Crispy Fried Prawn”. Fresh sea prawn selected, home prepared into prawn paste then deep fried with coated home recipe flour shredded and served topped with salad sauce brings exellent outer crispy bites eatery and inner bites texture you must try when reached Johor Bahru.
Secondly will be their Signature “Ah Ma Coffee Chicken Wing”, which among their daily top seller in the restaurant. Fresh sea prawn cooked in home soup base boiled few hours with mixtures of dried scallop, carrot and pumpkin then finally served with pouring small cup of imported Sake (Japanese Alcohol) brings the best prawn freshness and sake taste you must have a try when reached the south Malaysia.
Nonetheless, the owners also taken the opportunity to introduce their “Olive Fried Rice” which one among the signatures.
