Mr. Tan Keng Seng who born in year 1964, was the initial founder and immediate owner of the recommended “Restaurant Wan Jiao” also known 828 roasted house which introducing their home recipe chinese herbal roasted duck and other homemade roasted mix menus to the public for more than 20 years in Kulai, Johor. Also his son Tan Chee Xin (born 1993) was recently stepped into the family’s career assisting father to continue their exposure in the industry, having 2 outlets and a food stall currently.
Tan Keng Seng or also known Ah Seng who at his age of 54 years old today, initially stepped into the f&b industry in year 1990 began as a kitchen trainee in a chicken rice shop in Singapore. Then returned to Johor under-emplyed in a chicken rice restaurant at Taman Sri Tebrau in year 1992. With the experiences hold and being foreseen the market opportunity in the field, Ah Seng started his very own chicken rice stall “New Style Chicken Rice” in a coffee shop at Kulai, Johor in the same year. Later exposed into roasted mix spent 20 years insist to serve all his menus in charcoal roasted allowed him again successfully established his very owned roasted house at Indahpura, then in year 2017 another outlet at Jalan Kenari named “Restaurant Wan Jiao (828 Roasted)”.
In this 828 roasted house, the founder’s first top recommended in menus is their signature home recipe “Roasted Duck with Chinese Herbal”. Fresh local feeded duck with net weight of 2.6kg selected, overnight marinated with chinese herbals such as tang gui & gei zi mixed with 5-spices powder and chinese wine, then coated with rock sugar and dry-up at least 8 hours followed with about 40 minutes charcoal roasted brings exotic roasted taste and chewing meat’s texture in bites you must try when reached Johor Bahru.
Another will be their “Roasted Chicken”, which among the restaurant’s daily top seller most wanted by their regulars.
