FIND THE NEARLY 40 YEARS TRADITIONAL HOMEMADE ROASTED MIX IN “CHONG LOY” INTO 3RD GENERATION
“Roasted Mix”, which all the while been decades favourite by most of the cantonese religious, nowadays being one of the local’s most wanted eatery by public easily found everywhere all presented in respective recipes. Here in Bandar Sunway, we found the oldies homemade roasted mix restaurant “Chong Loy” since 1980 into 3rd generation and successfully recognised as one of the best authentic traditional roasted mix in town carried by Lee family.
The local originated Mr. Lee Hon Kiong (1963), the 2nd generation, together with his wife Ms. Thong Tiong Choo (born 1967) both are the recent owners of this recommended “Restoran Chong Loy” cantonese homemade roasted mix at Taman Dato Hormat. Being currently assisted by their son Lee Bou Kit (born 1996), as the next generation continue serving their traditional home recipe cantonese roasted mix menus to the public under the same roof nearly to 40 years.
The founder Mr. Lee Khuan Chong (born 1935), who initially established his very owned eating house “Restoran Chong Loy” here at Bandar Sunway, Selangor introducing his homemade roasted mix selections began in 1980. While Hon Kiong, the 2nd generation, who all the while touched the career helping father in the restaurant since his teenage later-on quit, and exposed more than 10 years in Construction Industry.
With the vision to continue his family’s career, foreseen the market opportunity in f&b industry, added with wishes to go further in the field made Hon Kiong decided to fully stepped into the family’s career then took up the responsibility to run the restaurant in year 1997 with assisted by wife Tiong Choo, as the 2nd generation on “Chong Loy”. While their son Bou Kit, who all the while having great interest in the field also being stepped into it after his education at age of 18th, also currently the restaurant’s roasted chef handling the daily operations.
In this “Chong Loy”, the owners’ first top recommended among their signatures will be the “Roasted Duck”, which still prepared in home-traditional way. Local feeded duck with weight of about 2.5kg selected, marinated with 5 spices then drying overnight, followed by 45 minutes roasted and served in huge cutted pieces brings excellent chewing duck meat’s texture in bites you must try. Taken with their in-house exotic salty sauce made from their 5 secret recipes combination will be the perfect match neither found better in town.
Secondly will be their “Roasted Pork Belly”, also locally known “Siu Yuk” which most wanted by their regulars, still prepared in traditional home-made. Selected belly pork marinated overnight with home recipes, followed by about 2 hours roasted, then served in cutted cubes brings unbelievable crispy bites belly’s skin level into mouth and the fine roasted-taste you will never regret after tasted here in “Chong Loy”.
Another will be among their restaurant’s daily top seller, the “Roasted Pork” or locally known “Char Siew” favourite by visitors taken either with noodles or rice. Selected ham/leg pork meats marinated overnight, then roast for an hour with home-mixed rock sugar gravy coated-on brings wonderfull sweet taste you cannot aside. Especially the char siew’s meat texture in bites.
Nonetheless, the owners also taken the opportunity to introduce their “Roasted Chicken” which fully prepared roasted in-house. Fresh chicken with weight of 2kg selected, marinated then followed by 40 minutes roasted, finally served with home soy sauce mixture poured onto, and taken sided with a plate of their home-cooked hot oil-rice that you really cannot missed when stepped into this “Restoran Chong Loy” traditional homemade roasted mix eating house at Sunway, Petaling Jaya (Selangor).
