BROTHERS MID-NIGHT BAK KUT TEH
Mr. Sum Nam Kong who take over the bak kut teh food stall ownership at Pandan Indah, Cheras in the year 1998 at his age of about 30 years old well known as the “Brother Bak Kut Teh”. Afterwards he sucessfully exposed into shoplot after 3 years which is the recent location.
After the passing of Mr. Sum Nam Kong, his younger brother Mr. Sum Long Kong who also the recent owner of this restaurant keep running the brother bak kut teh career since year 2008 at his age of about 40 years old. Long Kong who before at his age of 15 years old been stepped into the food industry helping his elder brother in their food roadside stall after that he fly to Singapore joined into furniture industry trying to explore himself in other industry, but finally he back to home country Malaysia re-stepped into local food industry. With the aid by his nephew Mr. Sum Yew Sam also known ‘Sam’ who too back from Singapore together running the resturant to recent.
Among all food in the restaurant, their ‘Special Claypot Spare Rib Soup’ will be the best top recommended in Brother Bak Kut Teh. This special claypot mixed with their very own recipe soup base boiled with chinese herbals like ‘tong gui’, ‘gei chi’, ‘fo shuen’ and others for more than 2 hours time. They are using fresh ‘King’ spare ribs which is a very valuable part raw ribs and also mushroom into the pot to present the ever tasty claypot bak kut teh. Another, their famous ‘Ginger Stewed Pork Leg’ taste slight salty cooked with the most important ingredient ‘bat kok’ also known ’8 angle’ ingredient to strongly push out the taste, will also never missed by their visitors.
Somemore, there are also few recommended choice in the restaurant like their chinese wine soup in claypot. Choices such as fresh kidney or liver boiled in their claypot chinese wine soup mixed with ginger slice brings the unbelieveable freshness and taste. In side dishes, they serving the top quality ‘tau pok’ which also known fried tau foo cooked with bak kut teh soup base is the most wanted by the regular customers. Finally, pork testile which served in the restaurant using ’3 levels’ testile, they folded the pork testile into three levels before cook will make the testile more tasty and eatery when you put into mouth.
